Yesterday’s lengthy recitation of immigration “reform” goings-on, in summary shows how much of the matter is political positioning and, in the end, just words.
The American people have heard, endlessly, how badly the nation needs “comprehensive immigration reform”. All the while, more and more people are entering the country ILLEGALLY, in defiance of the laws currently in effect…and they want more than “comprehensive immigration reform”.
They want the country! They are “offended” in our schools by the American flag, and by displays of patriotism. They refuse to accept our traditions and many of our values. They apparently wish to recreate in America the culture, governance, social conditions, and economic policies of the countries from which they fled.
Our politicians are anxious to pander to them for their votes; our business leaders for their initial willingness to work for low wages.
After all the words; after all the “comprehensive” legislation, all we shall have are new laws, broken on a daily basis by the very people elected to uphold the “rule of law”.
We now have enough legislators, judges, and enforcement authorities, not just willing to ignore any part of enacted immigration legislation they do not like…they are anxious to do so!
We have no immigration law now that is enforced, and when all the blather is done, we will have more and different law that is not enforced.
We will also have a far different nation…one that resembles very much the kind of country our new “citizens” were so eager to flee from!
