More than 50 intel, security officials from both parties back Gina Haspel as CIA turns over files
I consider Gina Haspel an excellent pick by President Trump to head the CIA…However I do have a serious concern:
Anyone who wins the enthusiastic support of John Brennan and James Clapper, as well as other devoted leftists from the Obama regime would seem an automatic candidate for disqualification.
The way that Democrats have treated Trump nominations has actually been an aggressive effort to deny Trump’s efforts to form a government.
As to my concern regarding Haspel, I cite Christopher Wray as a recent example. Wray won the support of all but 5 senate Democrats for confirmation as Director of the FBI. This while Schumer and gang were rejecting and attempting to deny confirmation of other extraordinarily well-qualified nominees. And since his “bi-partisan” confirmation, Wray has appeared to work as hard against Trump as any congressional Democrat…joining in the stonewalling of legitimate congressional demands. The excuse advanced in his defense is that he’s working so hard to protect the bureau’s reputation.
Hmmm, “WWGD?”… What Would Gina Do? Stonewall and ‘redact’ to protect ‘reputations’ of the CIA, Brennan, et al?)
On the other hand, while Haspel has great support from non-congressional leftists and Obama-ites, the Senate Democrat left (a redundancy. there is no Democrat senate ‘anything else’) is apparently unanimously against her…including that “radical moderate”, Joe Manchin.
And so, like everything out of D.C. these days, we have no idea what the real situation is. What is Gina Haspel…a long-serving, expert, committed patriot? Or a skilled operative who can pose as anything you want her to be until the mission is accomplished…that would be as a ‘clandestine’ anti-Trumper?
I don’t know. She appears to be, given her exemplary service, the silly reasons given to vote against her from Diane Feinstein and “Weird Rand” Paul having been completely repudiated, an excellent candidate to lead the CIA, which has much to live down after years of leadership by John Brennan.
I’ve been had before by the Washington establishment…but I hope not this time.
