Never forget, the entire takeover of one seventh of the economy affecting cultural and constitutional issues with far-reaching profound implications was based on lies, including “Like your insurance company — you can keep your insurance company” Unsaid: “except we are going to run them out of business” and will run their costs up so high you will have to leave for the government plan” (or go without).
And there was the more personal blatant whopper “like your doctor you can keep your doctor” except it was patently untrue as it was all dependent on their ability to cope with the restrictions of “the plan” and your ability and willingness to go along as well, not to mention that many would retire early under the regime, and previously elective coverage mandatory with among other “features” serving to make your wait for your doctor longer as they try to cope. The economics of it was a huge lie as well including that it was not a new tax increase and would make health care more affordable.
