The latest attack on Kavanaugh, and who is culpable

  • When Dick Durbin sees the evidence and says “get real” then Dems might want to take that long needed spiritual retreat
  • Erick Erickson (now of The Resurgent and founder of RedState) points to Justice Robert’s hand wringing pathos over the court’s image for breeding this Democrat mudslinging

Regarding the latest attempt by Dems and their scribes to impeach SCOTUS Justice Kavanaugh with claims (planted by Dem operative) of sexual impropriety decades ago Matt Vespa at Townhall explains the matter well:

Also, Erick Erickson once a NeverTrumper who has now endorsed Trump for reelection, we think has rightly placed much of the blame for these attacks on Kavanaugh:

John Roberts is Culpable in the Kavanaugh Attacks

Yes, yes, the New York Times is pushing this latest Kavanaugh story to sell the book written by two New York Times reporters. But there is also more to it than that.

In the past few years, attacks on the credibility of the Supreme Court have increased. Those attacks skyrocketed after the Obamacare decision in which John Roberts, in his Solomonic wisdom, decided to split the baby.

It signaled that the refs could be roughed up.

Ever since, various progressives and their allies in the mainstream media have escalated and amplified attacks on the Court because they know John Roberts worries chiefly about the reputation of the Court.

If there were any doubts, the latest leaks about the census case dispel them. Roberts can be persuaded based on political attacks against the Court.

This makes it more likely that Roberts’ colleagues will see attacks on them as progressives seek to further politicize the Court in hopes of further caving by Roberts.

The current attacks on Kavanaugh have everything to do with selling a book. But there is an underlying current of targeting Roberts and that, in turn, will cause his colleagues to be targeted even more.
