Sense and vitriol in the end-the-shutdown debate

We reference below two authentic conservative sources which goes to show we conservatives can be a mixed lot and not immune from the hysteria virus (our humble opinion as to one of the articles critiqued) .

First up John Hinderacker at PowerLine asks questions that need to be asked and responded to:

Now RedState is a publication that we have brought back to our stable of go-to publications since Erick Erickson left.  He needed to go with his temporary affliction with never-Trumper disease. He has recovered but departing the publication helped its return to more consistent sense and sensibility, which is not to say individuals therein do not produce clunkers now and then.

That is what  Joe Cunningham has done with his embarrassing freakout and castigation of the integrity of conservative pro-life / right-to life sentiments calling for expeditious return to normal economic and social activity (for the cause of life by the way). Read his commentary  but be assured he is well taken to the woodshed by most of the responses therein.  We hope to pile on as time permits.

People Are Not Lambs to Be Slaughtered at the Altar of Economy

Joe –  it is not an either or proposition we are faced with, it is the necessity to respond better.

One Response to Sense and vitriol in the end-the-shutdown debate

  1. Gus says:

“Opening up right now, we would see a surge in infections, overwhelmed hospitals, and way more death than we’ve seen so far. ”
That’s the word from the ’eminent virologist’, “Doctor” Joe Cunningham. Regardless how one might view the pandemic, no one but “Joe” has asserted that a reopening of the economy, now or in a couple of weeks, with just continuation of the more ‘reasonable precautions” ( ‘hand washing, prudent ‘distancing’, sensible behavior, “if you are not feeling well…”), is sure to provoke a “surge in infections, overwhelmed hospitals, and way more death…”
