It should be a GOP event
We previously called for the Scott County Republican Party (SCRP) to get behind a back the badge effort here. We understand that the SCRP leadership are volunteers but there are now, as is usual every two years, a collection of political operatives from the state party and at least regionally Trump operatives that ought to appreciate the great optics of a back the badge effort. It would help their candidates, provides them a platform or at least visibility, is an effective rallying topic for law and order no-party voters, and it is good government, good politics and the right and timely thing to do in support of beleaguered public servants. Will it happen . . . or will hand-wringing and useless redundant projects prevail?
