How does a prosecution with any integrity offer “video proof” of then President Trump’s alleged incitement of a crowd violence on January 6 and leave out this :
“everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically, make your voices heard.” That he only wanted them to show their support for legislators who were supporting him. That the assault on the Capitol’s security lines started before Trump began speaking.
Trumps statement along with the timing are absolute irrefutable definitive evidence of innocence. In a real court with an unbiased judge and jury something not present in this impeachment trial no serious prosecutor would bring it to trial but the partisan one who did would never ultimately get a conviction.
This is why they are impeaching Trump as conviction would not be possible in a regular court of law. They could avoid constitutional questions and pursue a criminal case in a regular court ,but they are not. The reason is obvious.
