Dr Seuss — Live for the circus die by the circus

Live for the circus die by the circus

Titles/themes Dr Seuss missed:  How’s a Guy to Catch a Break?  or maybe: Cornelius Thought His Ticket Was Punched or, more to the point: Cancel This!

Yep Dr Seuss, the former liberal icon  has been canceled.  Apparently he had a lot of racist thoughts floating around in his head particularly in his early career and no matter how hard he tried to make amends later in life. Links/titles  here:

Was Dr. Seuss Racist and Did NEA Ban Dr. Seuss Books from Schools?

And liberals promoted him back in the day as he was anti-Nixon  ((the 60’s 70’s Orange Man) and devoted at least one book/character/theme to the ecology/environmental movement (Lorax).

Liberals and his publishers didn’t  like it when pro-lifers would promote Horton’s memorable line “a person’s a person no matter how small”  but it helped sales and heck even none other than The One ( oblivious to so much) was quoted on recent cover pages promoting Dr Seuss:

Oh well, that was then, this is now!

Choose kindness with Dr. Seuss, Horton the elephant, and the Whos of Who -ville in this classic picture book about caring for others A person’s a person, no matter how small. Everyone’s favorite elephant stars in this heartwarming and timeless story for readers of all ages. In the colorful Jungle of Nool, Horton discovers something that at first seems impossible: a tiny speck of dust contains an entire miniature world– Who -ville–complete with houses and grocery stores and even a mayor But when no one will stand up for the Whos of Who -ville, Horton uses his elephant-sized heart to save the day. This tale of compassion and determination proves that any person, big or small, can choose to speak out for what is right. This story showcases the very best of Dr. Seuss, from the moving message to the charming rhymes and imaginative illustrations. No bookshelf is complete without Horton and the Whos Do you see what I mean? . . . They’ve proved they ARE persons, no matter how small. And their whole world was saved by the Smallest of All “Pretty much all the stuff you need to know is in Dr. Seuss.” -President Barack Obama
