On crime and punishment and Sheriff “Bull” Biden

From the crime and lack of justice blotter:

Kim Potter Verdict: Was Justice Served?

Kim Potter Convicted (of manslaughter) for Accidentally Shooting Daunte Wright While Michael Byrd Was Never Even Charged for Intentionally Killing Ashli Babbitt

We accept that then Brooklyn Center, Minnesota police officer Kim Potter was guilty of some form of wrongful death, perhaps some species of manslaughter in the death of  Daunte Wright revolving around her position as a senior police officer and negligence even if in the heat of the moment.  Her remorse from what we read was immediate sincere and constant.

Not having sat through all the trial specifics, if the case for criminal culpability was made the case for jail time beyond regular parameters is overwrought given her first offense status and total cooperation in the investigation.

It is clear the officer should have known what was in her hand given the difference in weight, color and position on her belt. That she was perhaps totally discombobulated with the situation is not adequate to exonerate her given her training, years in service and the time, even if but a few seconds, to evaluate what she was aiming. But with her conviction and likely jail time the “community” has received its pound of flesh, far more than it gets from any concern about black on black crime with more intent.

But do compare the justice served on a white female police officer in the above case with what has been meted out towards a black police officer, similarly with years of experience, in a town where protests are frequent,  who had lots of time to know what weapon he had drawn and realize other officers were not engaged in lethal force —  who shot and killed an unarmed diminutive white woman of no arguable threat, an individual who offered no resistance to arrest by nearby officers as none was implemented,  and whose shooting by this experienced senior officer clearly hazarded surrounding individuals including fellow officers who were in adjacent position with as good a vantage point but were not concerned with the victim as far as being a threat requiring lethal force.

For many months the January 6th police officer perp’s name was never released. He is free as a Byrd after a “double secret” exoneration coverup with no advocate for the deceased. Kim Potter’s trial was public.

And then there is this:

The Story of Sheriff “Bull” Biden** and CornPop

Joey’s gonna “put y’all back in chains”…just like he threatened to do with ol’ CornPop ?

We’ve talked before about ‘Joey’ Biden’s tale of how he took down “Corn Pop”…a “really bad dude”, whose gang was some “really bad boys”.

The thrust of Joey’s story was that when threatened by CornPop and his ‘boys’, who were armed with straight razors, Joey fearlessly ‘counter-threatened the gang with ‘wrapping a six-foot length of chain’ around their heads. Then Joey artfully ‘deescalated’ the situation, and CornPop was almost speechless at the guy’s ‘courage’.

NO JOKE!…Joey, himself tells how he told “Mr. Pop” the leader of the ‘gang of black bad boys’, that he would, in effect, ‘put’em all back in chains’ !

Here’s Joey as he tells the story for the umpteenth time to a crowd of admirers:
