CVS and Walgreens plan to sell abortion pill mifepristone at pharmacies after FDA rule change
Pro-life activists to protest CVS and Walgreens over plans to dispense abortion pill
Some might respond that the pharmacist is just fulfilling a “doctors”* orders . . . kind of like a nurse or receptionist who willingly works in an abortion clinic, just collecting a paycheck. Innocent as all hell.
Or someone might respond: It’s not like the pharmacist actually works IN the abortion clinic. Except they are now basically running a branch office, in a manner of speaking of course.
Another might intone: But they have been selling morning after pills “plan b'” for awhile. True but some of them might make a contention (even if unlikely) that such drugs could be contraceptive and not abortifacient. Sort of like the solace members of a firing squad might receive because one of them is traditionally issued a blank.
The obfuscator might contend: these drugs are only safely used up to ten weeks. But with the abortion drug protocols (or lack thereof) there are relatively frequent complications and ten weeks is after heartbeat laws protecting unborn babies go into effect in many states (six weeks being standard) and definitively in those states that have protected unborn life at all stages of human life’s continuum as before Roe v Wade — for example South Dakota.
In Iowa legal protection for the unborn as of today is in limbo pending a decision of the Iowa Supreme Court which at Governor Reynolds request has agreed to an expedited review of Iowa’s Heartbeat law protecting babies at approximately 6 weeks*.
As for Illinois — Walgreen/CVS et al might be happy to hand them out like Pez with a prescription because the right to life of an unborn baby has effectively been taken away at all stages.
The inescapable reality is that a drug protocol designed to kill unborn babies might now be on pharmacists shelves in Illinois and possibly Iowa. Pharmacists working for these companies will be willing executioners apprentices, handing them to a prescription holder, no doubt cheerfully giving the customer instructions in their use… functioning as an accessory … sort of as the gun runner, armorer and assistant hitman for the prescribing abortionist. They will knowingly (and lovingly of course) take money for what is being done — a snuff operation. They load the gun, sell the gun and instruct in its use knowing full well what it is being used for.
Prior to this the abortionist “doctor” dispensed the death dealing drugs, pulled them out of a drawer and handed them to the woman or girl, be they ignorant or distraught. Your corner pharmacist was not involved. Now these corporate entities and pharmacists who stay with them want to be involved and get in on the money. If it is not about the money, and about ideology, that is even worse. Killing innocent human beings is not curing.
These same entities and the pharmacists association decline to be conduits for lethal injection compounds in furtherance of death sentences (after multiple appeals) even for serial killers. It is against their ethics to participate. Fine. It is also a convenient turn-down as there are so few there is no money in it, that is until we start helping granny die as they do in enlightened Canada. Trust that it will come to that (oh wait, it has in a number of states although perhaps not quite yet directly involving pharmacists) given their money grubbing Sorcerer’s Apprentice corporate proclivities.
So if the claim of ethics enters into such decisions (they invoke such claims) dispensing baby killing drugs is not a neutral undertaking for these American firms or pharmacists who work for the entity, or frankly anyone who works in their warehouse or stores.
As the saying goes, because it is a a free country, with employment at will, workers can’t claim neutrality or indifference when they could stop it by saying NO to management — take this in and we leave. And if that does not work take your leave with deliberate speed. There are other pharmacies, (which will be exceedingly competitive if they are the ones who have the pharmacists) and there are other jobs in retail and so many beneficial work places uncompromised or encumbered by direct involvement in dealing in death against the innocent.
It’s All About the Grovers Baby
In our opinion these companies, long in the news for corrupt and questionable practices do such things first for the money and then when caught consider fines a cost of doing business. Then they look for ways to appease the regulators with politically correct pronouncements. It’s still all about the Grovers (as in Cleveland). Here are some excerpts from an article by Ryan Bomberger writing at LifeNews.com regarding the corruption these drug marketers have essentially pled guilty to:
Woe is Walgreens.
Many don’t realize the long sordid history Walgreens has when it comes to jeopardizing public health. Let me list a few. There was that 2008 racial discrimination class action lawsuit where the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) sued Walgreens for “discriminating against African American retail management and pharmacy employees in promotion, compensation, and assignment.” Walgreens settled for $24 million. That same year, Walgreens paid out $35 million to the federal government as a result of a national investigation into its fraudulent prescription altering and billing scheme. The pharmacy was accused of changing prescription dosage without any kind of physician approval and charged Medicaid more for the medications. See. Stealthy and crappy, not so much healthy and happy.
In 2013, Walgreens paid $80 million for an “an unprecedented number of record-keeping and dispensing violations” with millions of controlled substances, including oxycodone. The chain was accused of helping the flow of these drugs to the black market. In 2019, Walgreens agreed to pay a whopping $269 million to settle both federal and state lawsuits for overbilling taxpayer-funded healthcare programs.
These are just a few of the corrupt actions of your friendly corporate drug dealer.
CVS is a mess.
In 2009, CVS paid $2.25 million in a joint Federal Trade Commission and Health and Human Services investigation where the chain failed to protect patient information. CVS employees threw away pill bottles with personal and medical information, credit card info, employment applications (with SSN info), and more sensitive material into open dumpsters.
In 2016, CVS paid $3.5 million to settle allegations that 50, count ‘em, 50 of its stores filled out bogus prescriptions for addictive painkillers. The pharmacy chain violated the Controlled Substances Act, and the Department of Justice had to act to “improve public safety and public health” since CVS Health chose not to.
In 2022, both Walgreens and CVS agreed to pay a massive $5 billion settlement because of allegations that they enabled the opioid crisis. In 2021, just over 75,000 human lives died from synthetic opioids according to the CDC.
For DECADES these outfits continued to sell tobacco products — long after it was unassailable (however obvious) that inhaled tobacco products were poison for lung tissue. They continued to sell them for the money and because it was legal. It is not illegal for them to do so now. So while they knew they were dealing in death all along, they decided opprobrium and hypocrisy had become too much to deal with. We need to make them feel the same about killing developing children at stages we all went through . . . that it is ultimately not a good business model to participate in killing future generations or suffer overall profit losses for customers turning away from them.
Preliminary possibilities regarding boycotting CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid (and others) because of their becoming purveyors of child killing drugs include:
First of all let them know your outrage. Here are links to organizations helping people to do just that.

Various health insurance companies have links to preferred or”in-network” pharmaceutical providers. They usually include the big three the focus of this article but often others. We do not know the willingness of these other local pharmacies to be conduits for death dealing drugs but one health insurance company, Aetna, lists: Costco, Walmart, Sam’s Club, HyVee, First Medical, American, Genoa Healthcare LLC., Two Rivers Pharmacy, Main at Locust Pharmacy and others locally as preferred providers. There may be some circumstances where one is temporarily forced to deal with bad actors but with few exceptions there are probably alternatives at similar cost, in driving range or online and by mail.
Beat feet to the door of those providers that do not engage in what are violations of the traditional Hypocratic Oath which includes these words:
I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly
I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.
The publication Forbes had a recent article which may be helpful as to even lower cost alternatives to the big three. The Forbes criterion focuses on price and business standards however the willingness to market chemical abortion concoctions are not addressed so further inquiry is recommended. The uptake is there are often lower cost alternatives to the abortion dealers. Hopefully a pro-life network will identify and even market or recommend pro-life alternative sources.

We would offer as well that California with strict anti-Second Amendment laws bans the sale, import, or possession of certain firearms and components regardless of their legality in other states. In other words you can’t mail regulated matter to a recipient in the state and not have parties (including shippers) face repercussions within the state. Shippers supposedly have policies against receiving contraband and may be liable.

Bretbart article: Pro-Life Groups Protest Walgreens, CVS over Plans to Dispense Abortion Pills.
Live Action founder and president, Lila Rose, said Walgreens is “on track to becoming on of the biggest abortionists in the nation.”
“They are no longer a healthcare company but an abortion company. It is disgusting and repulsive to the American people that a pharmacist preparing allergy medication and blood pressure pills will now also be packaging and handing out deadly poison intended to kill children,” Rose said in a statement. “Walgreens—and other companies choosing to make a quick buck by pedaling the deadly abortion pill—can never be taken seriously as a healthcare company again. Mothers and children will not be safe until these drugs are taken off the market.”

According to the report, 40 Day for Life is also encouraging peaceful protests at pharmacies during its February 22 – April 2 campaign.
“CVS and Walgreens have replaced Planned Parenthood as the most significant abortion chains in the Western Hemisphere,” Shawn Carney, president and CEO of 40 Days for Life, told CNA on January 24. “With 18,000 locations between the two, and now Rite Aid joining in, we have given the hundreds of 40 Days for Life campaign leaders not currently leading a campaign the opportunity to do so outside a pharmacy.”
Breitbart News reached out to both CVS Health and Walgreens for comment about the protests. CVS Health did not respond by the time of publication, but Walgreens Senior Director of External Relations Fraser Engerman sent a statement stating that the company will dispense abortion bills consistent with federal and state laws. He said:
We intend to become a certified pharmacy under the program. We are working through the registration, necessary training of our pharmacists, as well as evaluating our pharmacy network in terms of where we normally dispense products that have extra FDA requirements and will dispense these consistent with federal and state laws.

Woman Dies After Taking Abortion Pill. (40 Days For Life Podcast)
As CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid prepare to distribute chemical abortions through their drive-through windows, ANOTHER woman has died after taking the deadly pills.
The Canadian teenager succumbed to septic shock–a complication of chemical abortions. While abortion pills hit the U.S. market in 2000, it took 15 more years for them to be approved in Canada…because another Canadian woman died of septic shock during the clinical trial.
Are Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid prepared for the complications and even deaths that will follow their decision to cash in on vulnerable women? We discussed that question recently on The 40 Days for Life Podcast:
