“By law…required…? You mean like Congress is “required by law” to pass a
budget each year? Or . . . the Obama administration being required to release an accounting of proposed regulations that will have an economically significant impact.
“Law” seems to have a curious interpretation by Obama and the Democrats. It
seems sometimes that the term has no interpretation…no meaning. Certainly
Harry Reid isn’t fazed by the existence of a law if it interferes with his agenda.
Obama has repeatedly ignored laws he doesn’t like and is sworn to uphold. He
just recently told companies to ignore a law that requires them to notify
employees 60 days before a likely impending layoff. The layoffs were a result of
“sequestration” and if it were likely to happen (as it then seemed it could or
would) the legally required notification would have happened prior to the
November election and threatened to reflect negatively on President Obama’s
performance. Obviously, can’t have that. So, Obama did what any good would be
dictator does. He advised the companies to ignore the law and taxpayers would
pay any fines they might incur for doing so.
