Here is one of the first puff pieces which will be gushing forth in commentaries, editorials, “news” items, tweets, etc, by the Left promoting the Papal candidacy of African Cardinal Peter Turkson.
We can expect a lot of enthusiastic support from the Catholic left for Cardinal Turkson., Here in the Quad Cities, expect to hear from certain Lay organizations who will be ecstatic about the Cardinal’s enthusiasm for a “Global financial authority” to solve the world’s economic problems. Undoubtedly local Catholic organizations, like one which, in the past, honored Saul Alinsky, will be really excited about Cardinal Turkson’s other “Social Justice” initiatives as will some unwitting dupes including certain bishops and pastors.
Specifically, Vatican Radio has said that a Turkson document, “Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of Global Political Authority,” had “proposed the creation of a global political authority to manage the economy and a new world economic order” with the United Nations “as a point of reference.”
Crisis Magazine, a conservative Catholic publication, said it contained “some downright frightening prescriptions for reshaping the worldwide economy” and could be seen as “a blueprint for a George Soros agenda.”
Left wing Progressives, who back President Obama, are obviously hoping Turkson will be the next Pope and will use the Vatican in a global campaign against capitalism. As the article suggests, George Soros backed organizations are going to be working tirelessly to promote his candidacy.
So…what might the future bring when we have a Marxist US president and a Marxist Pope? Any guesses? Chilling stuff, whether or not you’re a Catholic. DLH
