SCRCC Election — First Reflection

A Platform For Unity Under A Big Tent

SCRCC Election went as expected – pursuit of a really small tent

The Scott County Republican Central Committee election of officers, held last night, went as anticipated — just like with congress —  good bad or indifferent as to actual overall competence — 95% of  incumbents, or the perceived establishment, win “reelection.”  The challengers knew that, but threw their hats in the ring with earnestness and conducted themselves with good cheer. Our compliments to them all.

What was disheartening however was the manipulations the existing leadership group felt necessary to impose in order to continue their exclusionary control.  The proceedings should be  embarrassing for them and those who looked the other way or were determined to be fellow travelers no matter what.  Those too naive to notice should be embarrassed by that.  Exclusionary manipulative tactics were part of the lead-up and the election. The lead-up has been exposed already in these pages, here and as indicated here by some of the listed reforms. We will feature some further reflections  on the election and its implications soon.   R Mall
