Speaker Boehner, Its Time To Go

Boehner says he ‘absolutely’ trusts Obama

With this phalanx in front of him Obama is not going to be caught in a lie. Clinton lied, so what?

Relying on our own instincts and after reading this analysis from American Spectator of Speaker of the House Boehner’s comment that he “absolutely” trusts Obama, we have to conclude its time for him to go. We have no confidence in his ability to protect our interests in negotiations or public relations. Romney’s “47% will never vote for me” was a political faux pas, however truthful. Boehner’s comment cannot be reconciled as a statement reflecting truth or cleverness, only cluelessness or weakness.

There have been too many serious examples of Obama’s  prevarications, dodges, perfidies, revisions.  Given the devotion of the Washington press corp to covering for Obama, Boehner cannot seriously think making such a statement will somehow box Obama in.   He could have simply evaded the gotcha question.    DLH / RM

Addendum

A faithful reader in the comment section to this article raises a very important point that we failed to emphasize.   It references what deserves as much approbation as the “absolutely trust Obama” statement which we find no excuse for.

Speaker Boehner when asked to comment in the same interview about President Obama’s statement that the country does not  have “an immediate crisis in terms of debt,”  Boehner agreed: “We do not have an immediate debt crisis. But we all know that we have one looming …. It could be a year or two years, three years, four years. It’s not an immediate problem.”  And then according to reports Boehner said he agreed with Obama on the immediacy of the problem.   This can’t be an effort to protect the financial markets, they are already aware and are dancing at the foot of Vesuvius before they decide its over and pull the plug on their own.

Look at the size of our current debt, its continued growth apart from Obamacare. Look at the truth of Obamacare’s gargantuan direct costs and its growth hindering permutations throughout the economy. Observe the refusal of Democrats to timely propose a non-destructive budget solution or any budget period. Understand the clear and present dangers from the deterioration of our defense capabilities insisted on by Democrats.

Boehner by his statement exhibits mind boggling obtuseness even by political standards.   Does Speaker Boehner not understand  the political encumbrances  built in to the ship of state that must be overcome prior to meaningful course correction? Speaker Boehner the financial situation is the Titanic and the iceberg looms and we have not even started to reverse engines or steer clear. We would say crisis mode is in order.

And from faithful reader’s link to Breitbart we read;

With Republicans fighting tooth and nail to implement solutions necessary to reducing the national debt, Boehner’s language certainly undermines the public relations narrative set by conservatives. A House GOP aide angrily told Breitbart News today, “This undercuts the fight House conservatives have waged since 2010. Our efforts to prevent a debt crisis we will certainly face should never be minimized.”

Boehner is obtuse and oblivious and should go.

Boehner is just subscribing to the old Morning Joe montra that if you attack Obama personally it will boomarang back because although Obama’s ratings are crashing he is always supposedly polling high in “likeability.”

Look at the forum where Boehner made these comments, “ABC This Week” with Martha Raddatz. These people worship the religion of BHO. He didn’t want to take the bait that was thrown out and say he distrusts him. Especially when Obama is on his new “charm offensive” and actually having photo-ops on Capitial Hill where it is being reported daily that he is trying to reach out to the other side. So I don’t really blame Boehner.

What is troubling to me is his comments about the debt and agreeing with Obama that there is no immediate problem. Here is his comments form that part of the interview with Raddatz from over at Breitbart-

“Then Boehner dropped the bombshell. Raddatz, after quoting President Obama saying we don’t have “an immediate crisis in terms of debt,” asked Boehner for his thoughts. And Boehner eagerly agreed: “We do not have an immediate debt crisis. But we all know that we have one looming …. It could be a year or two years, three years, four years. It’s not an immediate problem.” And then Boehner said he agreed with Obama on the immediacy of the problem.”

Naturally Breitbart is reporting that GOP aides in Congress are saying everybody is super pissed.

He didn’t want “to take the bait”, regarding whether he “trusts” Obama. WELL WHY NOT “TAKE THE BAIT”. Obama cannot be trusted…by anyone, including those in his own Party. Boehner could cite example after example: a) what Obama did to Bart Stupak (noted in Veritas last week), b) in the ’08 campaign he promised he would take federal campaign funds if McCain agreed to. We all know how that went, c) Obama’s repeated perfidy in his dealings with Boehner himself on debt “negotiations”.
Obama’s legendary “likeability”? Obama is not “likeable’ He is deceptive, vindictive, petulant, arrogant…to mention a few of the characteristics he has exhibited to Americans.
I’m afraid I, for one, am rapidly coming to a decision. That would be, as this Veritas piece is titled; “Boehner must go”…now! And, if he doesn’t, I cannot find a rational reason to support the GOP!

    • Roy Munson says:

About the only reason left to support the GOP is Rand Paul. He is the only true Conservative left who practices and is unwavering in his principles. Throw Cruz, Lee and maybe Rubio in there as well. Rand is the real deal though and he scares the crap out of the GOP establishment and the Democrats.
