Both comments are in regard to this story from Politico: Marco Rubio Goes all-in on immigration bill.
Must wait until bill’s content is known and reliable analyses are available, but I have to say, I am not feeling good about this.
In Florida, Rick Scott was propelled to the governorship by the Tea Party. He is now being characterized by the local media as courageously moving toward the “center” (translation for the more gullible voters: “moving well-left”) as election looms. He has reversed himself on so many key conservative issues, he makes Obama look almost honest…well, maybe not.
Anyway, if Rubio endorses an immo plan that Chuck Schumer and “Arlen” McCain likes, any possibility of reversing, or even slowing, the relentless march toward a totalitarian system is pretty much gone.
And opened soon after the above
Well it looks like “Bluster Jr”. aka Rubio is going all in on amnesty — according to the Politico- “Marco Rubio is preparing to go all in to support sweeping immigration legislation, offering himself up as the public face of a bill that will split the Republican Party — but that his allies hope will propel him to the front of the GOP presidential sweepstakes.”
Between this and his vote on Cloture yesterday for the gun grab, Rubio is basically useless to me anymore. Why wouldn”t he stand up for the erosion of our 2nd Amendment? I mean along with the 14 Republicans 2 flipping Democrats were with them! What is wrong with Rubio?! Anyway, just because he is a “Hispanic Republican” doesn’t mean we have to support or potentially vote for him.
Ted Cruz (Hispanic Republican) has been in the Senate for 2 months and I have agreed with him numerous times more than I have Rubio, who has been in the Senate for 2 years. Somebody once told me that you can’t polish a turd. If Rubio continues to go full Bluster Jr. there is no way he will ever be President. We have seen how this show ends.
I can see a potential undecided voter conversation in 2016 right now:
“I really like Rubio”
“Yep I do also”
“But he basically supports everything Clinton does anyway”
I agree Rick Scott has become a huge disappointment. It’s funny when you compare him with Scott Walker (who isn’t being talked about for 2016 at all for some reason). They were both elected in the groundswell of 201o by the Tea Party with high hopes going in the same trajectory.
But Rick Scott has caved on about everything imaginable while Walker has took the opposite approach. Hell Walker won a freaking recall by a landslide in a solid Blue state last year! Meanwhile Rock Scott sits in Florida wth an approval rating right now in the low 30’s with Charlie Crist(D) waiting until next year to get back in.
The voting record always tells the true story.
