Chuck Schumer Triumphs on Politics of Immigration Reform

Schumer managed to hold Rubio and win his grudging respect, while selling him a lopsided deal. Rubio traded amnesty — although he refuses to call it that — for an enforcement plan on paper and a commission to be named later.
Under the bill, no additional enforcement has to take place before undocumented immigrants get legalized. The secretary of the Department of Homeland Security merely has to come up with a strategy for enforcement and notify Congress that it has commenced. It doesn’t matter if it is a good, bad or indifferent plan, so long as it is a plan. Then, an estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants get legal status.

Even Gang of Eight member Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) admits the amount of authority the bill would cede to the administration is controversial. “Biggest challenge on #immigrationreform has been well founded lack of trust that Obama administration will enforce the law,” Rubio Tweeted on Tuesday. “Its [sic] a big problem”
NASA says it is a bright star with a lot less mass. The new model also holds that the companion object is a so-called “B star” circled by a dusty disk.
Anyway we are sure there is an analogy to Marco in there somewhere. Perhaps the phenomenon is related to what happens when a politician goes to Washington and his head encounters the gravitational pull of Uranus. Spin momentum then gets out of hand and they implode. DLH
PS — Our illustrious Senior Editor goes on to warn regarding this fiasco that any drumbeat of support for Marco Rubio for president from the likes of ‘Karl, Reince, et al:” will be for naught. Conservatives are not in a mood.
You guys see that secret recording of Frank Luntz talking about how toxic Levin and Rush are for “crushing” Rubio all week on the radio over immigration? Apparently Luntz polling shows we just need to roll over and let Rubio sell us out…
Nobody read about this??? Luntz is in full panic mode because of being recorded saying this and basically it sounds like we are totally screwed.
