What the GOP Elephant Sarah Palin speaks of looks like . . . dissipated, squishy.

Our Illustrious Senior Editor , aka the ISE man, brought this to our attention with an endorsement for distribution in no uncertain terms.  We heartily agree.

Sarah Palin told Fox news after Chris Wallace reported that Republican operatives were sending him “opposition research” on Ted Cruz that: “Someday I’m going to tell America what I truly think about GOP elephants that would actually turn on a Senator who is fulfilling his campaign promises,”

Unfortunately, the term GOP Elephants, which Palin uses in a disparaging way, is appropriate imagery.  It raises the specter of bloated GOP big government types, often at the government trough, more interested in their sinecures, rent seeking ways, and beltway cocktail party acceptance than saving the country from the disastrous effects of the government takeover of health care.

We have seen shades of that here in Iowa at the state legislative level. Challenge the establishment either on matters where honest disagreement is possible,  or call them to task on matters of conservative principle, or actually advocate for platform matters they are oblivious to, and they will pull out the long knives. Grate on their predispositions and they will look to destroy you.   Read about the Rovian sort of treatment of Cruz for pushing Republican colleagues to do the right thing here and here.     DLH and R Mall
