Horse Sense, Ukraine, and the Upside to Income “Freedom”

Our illustrious Senior Editor DLH sends in this commentary:

Send the Bureau of Land Management to Ukraine!

A headline in today’s Wall Street Journal reports that, “For Obama, Standoff With Moscow Jumbles Plans at Home and Abroad”.

“Standoff with Moscow”!!!???? Standoff??? Are you kidding? That must be what Custer and all them Native Americans had at the Little Big Horn.

Or, that must be what Lord Cardigan’s Light Brigade had with Russian forces when it charged into the “Valley of Death” at the Battle of Balaclava in 1854…a “standoff”!

Here is how the Oxford dictionary defines “standoff”:

“A stalemate or deadlock between two equally matched opponents in a dispute or conflict” :
“the 16-day-old standoff was no closer to being resolved”

I don’t think that President Putin (or the rest of the world for that matter) considers the current “unpleasantness” in Ukraine to be a “standoff” with our President. I think Mr. Putin is ready to call it an easy victory and a humiliating defeat for the non-leader of the free world, Barack “leads from his behind” Obama.

Speaking of behinds, here is a thematic gem from at HopenChange :  An insightful horse and Jarlsberg’s  upside to “Tax Freedom”

The-Last-Round-Up

There are, happily, some consolations to avoiding (unintentionally, but entirely legally) any taxes this year. We didn’t pay for even a single new hollow-point bullet for the freakin’ post office. We didn’t pay for a single glass of champagne on one of Nancy Pelosi’s “official” government flights. Our taxes didn’t supply Sandra Fluke with a single multi-ribbed spermicidally-lubricated citrus-flavored condom. We didn’t buy a single golf ball for Barry. Nor did we pay for as much as a tablespoon of jet fuel to help Michelle Obama take yet another million-dollar vacation.
