Q  –  How is the drive by some campaigns to get Republicans to vote early in the  primary          going?                                                                                                                                                 A  –  Absentee voting as of a week ago on a state wide average is negligible.                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Q  – How many supporters attended the April 28th rally for Joni Ernst with Sarah Palin?    – 250 of which 40 to 50 were media.

Q  – How many supporters attended the rally for Sam Clovis with Louie Gohmert on May  2nd as he was introduced by Steve King?                                                                                         A  –  More than 250 of which very few were press. Much of the press was done for the day,  heading to a press banquet to congratulate themselves for devotion to the news.

Two votes were held in the U.S. House on Wednesday regarding the IRS targeting of conservative organizations.  The first one was an action recommending that the House of Representatives find Lois G. Lerner, former Director, Exempt Organizations, Internal Revenue Service, in contempt of Congress for refusal to comply with a subpoena duly issued by the Committee on Oversight & Government Reform.  The second vote  was to call on Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr., to appoint a special counsel to investigate the targeting of conservative nonprofit groups by the Internal Revenue Service.  Iowa’s two Republican congressmen, Latham and King supported both measures.

Q  –  How did Congressman Loebsack vote on the measures above?                                            –   Loebsack voted against against the contempt resolution. Only six Democrats supported it. Loebsack vote with 26 Democrats to call on Holder to appoint a special council.

Q  – How did Congressman Braley vote on the measures above?                                                  A  – Braley voted against both measures. He had already been exposed as one of 30 Democrats encouraging the IRS to investigate 501 c-4 organizations ( the tax status relevant to the complaint).  Then when the IRS admitted to the targeting in May of 2013 Braley called the IRS targeting of conservative groups “shameful,” saying “there is no place for politics at the IRS.”  Braley objected to targeting but could not muster the moral fortitude to seriously object to targeting. How convenient.

Q  –  Which of Iowa’s candidates for federal office responded to the Campaign for Liberty issue poll?                                                                                                                                                  –   In the 1st CD –  only Steve Rathje responded,  – not Rod Blum or Gail Boliver.  In the 2nd CD, Marianette Miller-Meeks and Matthew Waldren returned the survey. Not Mark Lofgren.  In the third  CD Joe Grandanette responded. Not Robert Cramer or Matt Shultz. Not Monte Shaw or David Young. In the 4th CD – Steve King responded.

Of all the Republicans seeking the nomination for the Senate seat only Sam Clovis responded to the Campaign for Liberty issue poll
