To all those “can’t happen here” optimists, I would refer them to this one story. In effect, Harry “Turd-weight Champion of the World” Reid (that weight division was named in honor of Harry’s brief, but notable amateur boxing career) has proclaimed that he’s a fair, patient guy but he’ll only wait so long to ignore “laws of the land”.
Harry Reid: President Obama may have to act on immigration. Never mind that pesky Congress getting in the way of things, Reid feels Obama’s pain. That other “structural defect” the 22nd amendment, is fundamentally in the way of additional achievement . Why should people be denied there right to have a president for as long as he they like?
Obama blames Founding Fathers’ ‘structural’ design of Congress for gridlock
And heaven forbid the king’s court be held accountable: 33 Democrats Opposed a Bill to Make VA Bureaucrats Easier to Fire. Especially if that possibility might open up some save your ass type revelations. Maybe the 33 voted that way because the bill was just too long to read. From the Washington Free Beacon:
On Wednesday, the House of Representative overwhelming approved the Department of Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act, a bill that would relax the standard bureaucratic red tape that makes it exceedingly difficult to fire government employees, even those implicated in an embarrassing scandal. The vote was not unanimous, however, as 33 Democrats for some reason voted against the legislation. The opposition was comprised of union-backed liberals, as well as lawmakers such as Jim Moran (Va.), Steny Hoyer (Md.), and Chris Van Hollen (Md.), who represent the D.C. suburbs where many senior VA employees reside.

Adding the profundities and fine examples set by Democrats such as Shiela Jackson Lee , Debbie Wasserman Schultz impeached and convicted of bribery as a judge but elected to Congress anyway Alcee Hastings, statutory gay rapist Gerry Studds is just too depressing right now. But Karl Rove says Tea Party candidates have not been up to doing battle with Democrats (especially with Republicans like Rove piling on) . . . indeed that Republican nominees need to be more nuanced, and able to operate on the same level as the likes of these fine specimens of political achievement. Rovians, establishment Republicans, have always been willing to sandbag conservative primary winners. They charge that such conservatives can’t raise money and work behind the scenes to make sure that happens.
They even work center stage, as Rove has done, openly denigrating conservatives, for example repeating false Democrat charges about IRS problems for Christine O’Donnell, pulling the rug out publicly, working against a fair chance at fund raising, never defending them. DLH w/ R Mall
