Will anyone in the MSM talk about the gender gap Democrats have with men?
The Iowa Republican(TIR) has a link to the currently running 30 second Ernst TV ads along with the script. View it here. They also have a report titled — Conservative Roundtable’s Message to Ernst: Take Off the Gloves. Worthy reading, including the comments, which will give you a flavor of conservative fears about the Ernst campaign.
The latest Ernst campaign ad run has come after the Quinnipiac poll. We can only conclude that the outside groups opposing Braley are having effect. Braley’s ads have not been as effective in their negativity. Ernst’s negatives are less than Braley’s. The ads opposing Ernst have been the dark, snide type, way over caricatured and seeming more and more lame. Apparently the extensively played (false) pro-abortion/ anti-Ernst ads, which use female talking heads that have a harshness to them, are having little effect, especially against a woman, due to their falseness and believability.
Republican fears have been aggravated by reports like this one in the Washington post Taking the U.S. Senate more in question current polling, highlighting Iowa:
Ernst and especially outside groups have been attacking Braley for his gaffs and absenteeism. That is fine but we believe that if Ernst were to leverage high negatives about Obama’s competence in dealing with the border crisis/ support for amnesty; the Middle East /ISIS situation; the Economy and Health Care, tying Braley to them as he deserves to be, and other negatives about Braley not yet addressed, the Ernst campaign could put the race away for Republicans. Will they? We still fear the campaign is infected with Romney disease.
Ernst latest ad portrays Ernst as a nice person. She is not a witch. Mom Joni will take care of us. Believe it or not she has parents. If there is some ignorant demographic that needs to see that fine, show it on the soap operas and Opra, but eeeech. We hope it is endemic but where are the spots from Ernst to motivate voters about the future of the country if Democrat Nancy-Boy Braley were to win?
A full throttle immigration spot alone could help her campaign immensely. That is unless she has been co-opted by the Chamber of Commerce’s desires to shift the true costs of their cheap labor desires to what is left of the middle class. Will it happen? There may be more inhibitions . . .
Brian Kennedy political consultant famous for chairing the Romney campaign in Iowa, which had nothing to gain from the false announcement of Romney winning the caucuses, nor he of having anything to do with denying Ron Paul supporters of fair proportional delegate representation, is or was the Ernst campaign chief fund-raiser. He raised early money from the likes of Jerry Perenchio a former Univision broadcasting CEO. Is Ernst muted on border security or not?
Ironically, well perhaps not really given the “versatility” of the political consultant class, we remember a campaign ad from Kennedy’s ill-fated congressional primary run. Quoting the Chicago Tribune – 3/25/06 -) “Brian Kennedy, a Republican candidate for Congress, stood near the banks of the Rio Grande as a photographer snapped a picture of a boat crossing the water behind him. Within days, he turned the image into a campaign ad, demanding “Do something about illegal immigration!”
We don’t want the same overall magic from Kennedy, a distant third place for himself in the congressional race, and second place for Romney, but the Ernst campaign should adopt a secure the border first position and hit Braley hard with his support of Pelosi and Obama on the issue. R Mall
