But first, just so you know . . . we are not smug . . .
How hard could this have been? Scott County Republican (SCR) Web site now has a list of Republican candidates. Of course voting began days ago and it is at least a couple of months after all positions were decided. The Democrats have had their candidates listed, complete with pictures and donation and Web site links for each candidate, for well over a month. No one accuses the Democrats of having a poor ground game outreach. See related articles here and here.
The SCR candidate page has no pictures and for most of the candidates there is no contact information such as phone numbers, Web site, or e-mail. They probably should not have bothered with what they posted. You can find contact information in the article we posted five weeks ago.
But finally, after a month and a half of nothing being posted , there is some political news of interest to the people of Scott County on the SCR News page. During that time Braley’s chicken man gaffs, Jack Hatch’s campaign collapse, Joni Ernst’s polling performance, that sort of thing, were not newsworthy.

And if the Republican establishment has lost Peggy Noonan . . . well what can we say? Our resident senior editor, DLH would say it is the first time he has agreed fully with Peggy in six years or more. It is an important article by the premier Wall Street Journal opinion page columnist. If the link fails try typing in just the title in your search window and follow one or more of the links.

The Noonan article, and the ones to follow are all very recent, and may we humbly suggest, substantiates our critiques and warnings to the Republican Party at the local, state, and national level.
