As a result of diminishing confidence in Speaker Boehner’s ability or intention to stop the Obama agenda, a few days ago we encouraged readers to contact Steve King and encourage him to run for Speaker of the House, or support a conservative alternative to Speaker Boehner. We received a response to our e-mail earlier today. It is noncommittal but I think it reasonable to assume that if he was enamored with Boehner’s performance and leadership, he would have shut the door. We think more such calls, letters, faxes, and e-mails to Steve King are the best hope for the Republican Party.
