A sad day for personkind — reflecting the need for change!

  • With so many publications doing retrospectives we decided to get in on the act.
  • Looking ahead, we call for affirmative action in the NFL  – the glass ceiling is just too high for gays

THE story that made headlines across the nation, around the world. Cited as one of, if not THE biggest sports stories of the year…nay, of the decade!

A “popular” sports magazine listed the moment when Sam would be chosen in the NFL draft to be among the top ten sports events for a fan’s “bucket list”, right up there with the Kentucky Derby, the Indy 500, the Super Bowl, etc.

How lucky are we to have lived in the same century as the first openly gay football player to be drafted by the NFL!!!!!!

Oprah’s documentary about this event, which in the minds of many liberals, apparently, surpasses VJ Day, and maybe the Dawn of Man (“Persons), is 90 minutes, followed by a one hour one-on-one interview . . . all of which evidently lamented the fact that Michael Sam just didn’t get a fair shot.

Probably just didn’t get enough publicity!

Sam: Coming out was right thing to do  St Louis AP:

“didn’t need to be public,” Sam said. “Why do gay people have to do it?”

Michael Sam dismissed the thought that his sexuality has cost him a spot in the NFL.

“I don’t like to think that way,” Sam said in an Oprah Winfrey Network documentary that aired Saturday night. “But I do believe I’m a very talented football player and I’m going to continue working hard and try to get that opportunity to play in the league.”
