Any similarity to Obama’s arrogance in setting up Sharpton as his “go-to-guy” on race ?

“He had the opportunity to demonstrate good will and support for the police, and he once again has demonstrated the opposite.”

Who we talkin’ about? Obama? Holder? Nah, “Red William” DeBlasio, communist mayor of NY. Someone said that the mayor’s action in this instance…reappointing a defiantly anti-police judge. . . was “inexplicable!”

No. It’s completely “explicable”. This is what dictators do when they are confident that the state-controlled press will back or cover up for their every move, however “in-your-face” toward the general public it might be. Or, perhaps, the more in-your-face their actions are the more likely the NYT, NBC, etc will back them.

What Could Go Wrong? Obama Frees Nuclear Terrorist from Gitmo

Which only goes to show that college education doesn’t make you smart . . .

“Republicans won white voters without a college degree by 30 points, 64 percent to 34 percent, according to exit polls, equal to their margin in the wave election of 2010.”

The quote above is a part of an article in Politico by Jonathan Topaz What we learned about the American voter in 2014,  subtitled: Have Republicans disrupted Democrats’ demographic advantage? The author makes and briefly adds credence to the following assertions:

  1. The Democrats’ working-class-whites problem is serious.
  2. Lax campaign finance laws are further separating the American electorate from candidates.
  3. Even the best turnout machine needs a message.
  4. Americans factor in the president when they vote for Congress.
  5. The 2014 electorate may tell us very little about 2016.

With the exception of item 2 we agree with the assertions although not every spin or explanation offered in support. The notion that without Obama in the race, the Democrats’ most dependable demographic, the black vote, may not be as enthusiastic resonates with us. We are also inclined to think that the female vote will not be overenthusiastic for Elizabeth Warren, er,  Hillary.  As regards “lax” campaign finance laws — the greatest threat to America is a system that limits competition for hearts and minds and allows major media outlets to define what is news and what isn’t. The amount of money spent on informing voters is a problem only as regards the  desire for hegemony by liberal legacy media.

Steve King and Veritas sit’n in a tree . . .

Iowa’s Congressman Steve King sent this message to his e-mail list today. It is a generic letter to people who have sent him a message in support of his border security efforts.

Roger —

As I look ahead to 2015, I worry about the possibility that a Republican majority may not be enough to stop Barack Obama’s lawlessness.

We’ve seen this sort of scenario before, and Republicans caved to the president’s demands at the last minute. They followed that up with the same old posturing that they “tried” to do the right thing.

Well, I’m not going to fall in line and allow Barack Obama to make our country’s illegal immigration problem worse. I’m ready to lead the fight to defund his executive amnesty order in early 2015. If you’re with me, I need you to help me reach my end-of-year fundraising goal so we can get a jump on the upcoming illegal immigration battle.

Thanks for all you’ve done to make border security a national priority in 2014. Have a safe and happy new year.

-Steve

Where have we heard the essence of those first three sentences before?  We are not alone in our lack of confidence in Republican leadership’s resolve or strategies to stop the Obamanation.  We of course share Republican Congressman King’s observations and worries and heartily encourage support for his efforts.

Glenn Beck was correct when he called Obama a racist 5 years ago during an interview on Fox. Why else would Obama have Al Sharpton at the White House more than the Vice President? He’s been there 81 times!
