PS on the JS BS

Comedy as phoney as his name

The JS in our title line refers to Jon Stewart, the alias for Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz. Funny in a pathetic sort of way how “Stewart” felt compelled to change his name for his “art” while eight-year older Jerry Seinfeld embraces his heritage and elicits humility as part of his appeal.  I am not aware of Stewart being accused of engaging in a lot of self-deprecating humor.  Instead Stewart is a polemic political commentator who  uses snarky spiteful “humor” and selective gotcha out of context moments to distort truth while being given credit for telling the truth by those predominately not the target. It’s a great  gig, it’s just not comedy.

th-12Stewart’s “comedy,” is not comedy about  the human condition, as a Seinfeld delivers, it is the continuous use of ridicule, in service to agenda driven progressive politics.  Which is fine, indeed we do some of the same, but we put our purpose on our masthead and go about our more serious commentaries and referrals. He should be truthful about his purposes as well.  His “masthead” or calling card might read  “Ridiculing conservatives /advocating a progressive Democrat agenda.”  That he hides as a “comedian” is part of his cover-up.

As Ben Shapiro writing at Truth Revolt says about “Stewart”

. . . his shtick is to concentrate on calling Fox, conservatives and Republicans liars. Anybody who concentrates as such is avoiding a lot of lack of truth about others in the media and politics.

To be sure he occasionally calls to task Democrats for departure from the progressive agenda, and for incompetence or embarrassing the cause, but only after it is inescapable. He ridiculed conservative opposition to Obamacare, opposition that was engendered by the impossibility of Obama’s claims, but then he skewered Obama for telling lies about  Obamacare only after it was implemented and after they could not be covered up. He  found the Obamacare lies embarrassing only after America was being victimized by them. But he was happy to shoot the prescient messengers without regret. Stewart is no example of a champion of the little guy or of the anti-hypocrite.  His politics are inevitably anti-little guy and his own hypocrisy is in service to progressivism and knows few bounds.

More commentary about one of the left’s three most celebrated snarks occasioned by his  upcoming job change (we heartily doubt he will be passing from the scene) can be read in this David Corbin and Matt Parks article for The Federalist –   Comical Politics In An Anything But Comical Age

We can attest to the substance of this Ricochet post by Jon Gabriel having done a “Jon Stewart” Google search ourselves.  See Jon Stewart DESTROY Strawman!

If you’re unfortunate enough to follow the average “destroyed” link, you’ll see “Daily Show” producers play an out-of-context clip, followed by Jon Stewart’s silent mugging for the camera and hoots of audience approval. Target DESTROYED.

Left-leaning sites like Upworthy, Huffington Post and Raw Story have run these headlines several times a week for months now. A quick Google search tells the tale:

“Jon Stewart destroys”: 451,000 hits
“Jon Stewart slays”: 46,300 hits
“Jon Stewart trashes”: 372,000 hits
“Jon Stewart wipes the floor”: 804,000 hits

One could add  ” Jon Stewart epic slam.”    So it goes when the predominantly liberal  MSM retransmits clips from their favorite political commentator

YOUR opinion AHCA is no good > it is here to stay…MIchael Steele said that Nov. 2016 there will be 31,000,000 sign ups. oh, sorry, talking point.

You think Stewart is a dummy. I don’t. Yes, he editorializes. Those are smarter than Greta’s, or Sean’s, or Rush’s…in my opinion.

Rush, that slob racist (ok, ok) got all bent outta shape over the other Comedy Central guy’s “promotion”…what if Stewart takes over Letterman’s show?

Why not Glenn Beck prime time network host? oh, I forgot, even Ailes couldn’t stand him.
