Notes from Veritas editorial meeting

Readers are made privy to the sophisticated editorial meeting today amongst top management at Veritaspac.com.  Publisher R Mall (in black) and Senior Editor DLH (in red)

OK I just looked it up  (as we are talking) – is this is what you mentioned earlier?  I  didn’t know.

Republicans: No Vote on Loretta Lynch Until Democrats Stop Pushing Abortion in Sex Trafficking Bill

Why are we bargaining?  Who the eff is in charge?

How about no and no!

DLH I’m afraid what we have in the leadership of the GOP Congressional caucus really is a clown show. As you say, the votes should be no brainers…no and no.

But this whole “red line” of McConnell’s is especially ludicrous. Lynch’s nomination should go down on a partisan vote, for the most important of reasons, wholly apart from the abortion issue. . The trafficking bill is a separate issue but also one that Republicans are allegedly “strong”  on (the Hyde Amn’t.)

I tell ya, this really is as bad as it gets. If they cannot fulfill the clear wishes of the electorate…not just the GOP base…what will they do on truly controversial matters?  Never mind. I know.

Moving on — I’m on Michael Reagan’s e-mail newsletter list — a couple days ago he commented on the Cotton letter signed by 50 Republican Senators that the left is all bent out of shape about. He said the letter was the wrong thing to do.

The GOP stupid letter

Michael has this one bassackwards   . . .  No harm was done, (by the letter) no issue taken away. The thing is now in response to criticism we can respond that Dems have done their own cowboy bullshit many times. Michael says Repubs gave up the high ground!  The letter didn’t and Republicans should not accept the narrative that it is the same as what Dems have done.

Why doesn’t the establishment take the position and praise the letter as being upfront, not a private “negotiation” it was an open letter for cripes sakes!  – the equivalent of what Michael called for to replace it – an op ed!?! How is that different?  It was cheaper, no money to the WaPo or NYT or USAToday and look at the free publicity. The Dems would have criticized an op-ed anyway as tantamount to interference . . .

DLH–  easy boy

One last thing — Don’t you think Hillary is imploding?  Surely she is going to announce soon that she wants to spend more time with her grandchild.

DLH — Well I don’t think it will be at home with Bill

I think the Dem nominee will be Elizabeth Warren . . .

Well you’ve been suggesting that for months.

DLH — Have you seen that Al Gore is being promoted to run again

Wow, had not heard. That makes some sense, he ran before and they think he won.

I’ll bet you that Gore is the nominee, no wait, your right it will be Pochahantas Warren that would be a twofer for the Dems.  I can’t decide.

OK I’ll take 1/64th Warren and give you Al Gore and 500 carbon credits.

Done

“Pochahontas Warren” is very, yes, “racist”. Not the person, your idiotic writing about her.
