WSJ “Israel spied” news section reaffirms its pro-Obama bias

Or maybe the WSJ thinks the implications we make the effort to point out are too obvious for comment

From today’s Wall Street Journal (WSJ) Israel Spied on Iran Nuclear Talks With U.S.

“Ally’s snooping upset White House because information was used to lobby Congress to try to sink the deal”

Maybe it’s just me, but the tone of this subhead establishes Israel as the heavy and the White House as the justly put upon player.

Pull quotes from the full article:

“The espionage did not upset the White House as much as Israel’s sharing of inside information with US lawmakers…”

Well, is that righteous or not? I wonder if the Journal would have reported this in the same way if Daniel Ellsberg had ‘shared this inside information’?

“The US routinely shares information with its European counterparts and others to coordinate negotiating positions…”

But by golly, Obama’s not going to share any with the US Congress (not even key intelligence and national security panelists). After all, what the hell business is it of those clowns? Who do they think is running this country?

“The information in the briefings (to Congress), Israeli officials said, WAS WIDELY KNOWN among the countries participating in the negotiations”

(caps mine)”. See our comments above.

“…other Israeli officials…gave lawmakers and their aides information the White House was trying to keep secret, including how the emerging deal could allow Iran to operate around 6500 centrifuges…to process nuclear material, said congressional officials who attended the briefings.”

Just a minor detail. Kerry and Obama know what they’re doing. “Trust us…when have we ever lied to you? (Stay out of this Stupak)”? There’s more that is just as disturbing but who’s got the time to spend on just one small item in the ongoing, onrushing move by Obama to full out tyranny?

Others kind of seeing the WSJ news story as we do, Ed Morrissey writes at Hot Air:  Obama admin: How dare Israel share intel on Iran talks with Congress!

CNN to its credit (or out of rivalry) relates a more thorough response from the Israeli government. Israel denies report it spied on U.S. in Iran nuclear talks

Basically the Israelis say it shared nothing confidential (presumably meaning information not available to anyone legitimately making the same investigations).

As long as we are on the WSJ we will say that columnist Brett Stevens, on the editorial pages, has a superb column, devastating in its timely analysis titled: “The Orwellian Obama Presidency” (“friends are enemies, denial is wisdom, capitulation is victory”).

Stephens’ concluding comment: “For now, all it (Israel) has to do is get through the next 22, admittedly long, months”  I do not disagree with. However , my concern is that at the end of that period, just what will be the extent of devastation that Israel, America, the world, will face…and will a positive recovery be possible?
