With Chuck Grassley there are no bones about it . . .

John “let me pretend to be coy” McCain (born 1936) says show me the money

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley says his age won’t slow him down as he runs for a 7th term.

“I think that age isn’t a factor or I wouldn’t be running for office — or I wouldn’t be running this morning,” said the spry 81-year-old Friday, referring to his regular jogging sessions.

The six-term Republican held the first fundraiser for his 2016 campaign earlier this week and is nearly halfway through his annual tour of all 99 Iowa counties. Grassley, the second oldest member of the Senate,

John “show me the money” McCain

From a letter to supporters earlier this week:

My Friend,I will soon make my decision on running for re-election and one thing is for certain – I will not be able to run a successful campaign unless I have your support.Over the last couple of election cycles, we’ve seen incumbents take their re-elections for granted — and lose.I promise you I am not one of them. If I decide to stand for re-election to the United States Senate, I will give it everything I’ve got — and your continued support means a great deal to me.Just hours remain until the end of the quarter and I need to know you stand with me.

We are still $25,687 short of our fundraising goals. Will you please reaffirm your support by making a generous contribution of $25, $50, or even $100 to help me lay the early groundwork for a successful defense in the quickly approaching primary season?

My Friend, I am not making this decision lightly and I need to know if you will stand with me. . . .

Senator McCain needs us to show good faith with a monetary contribution, cough cough, before he makes his decision. He needs it for early ground work for a race in 2016.  Of course the deficient amount is pocket change. But what if he does not run, will we get it back? No doubt he is fully intending to run or he would not be asking for money, or would he? We are so confused. Anyway Chuck Grassley didn’t send out a silly fund raising ploy like that  before deciding to run.

McCain is a true maverick, not a “company man” Republican – a war hero and Great American. He showed class when he refused to get into the sickeningly stupid birther “issue” in 2008-9. Guess that makes him a Liberal.
