And if you want Jack the Ripper as your Surgeon General . . .

We are not surprised by these responses from reputed presidential contenders regarding Loretta Lynch.

In this Breitbart article Senators Cruz, Paul, and Rubio make forceful statements announcing their decisions to vote against the nomination of Loretta Lynch for Attorney General.  Governor Scott Walker makes a similarly forceful statement.

Senator Lindsey Graham voted to confirm Lynch (one of ten Republicans). According to Brietbart:

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, also a likely Republican presidential candidate, also said he believes the Senate should affirm Lynch.

“I think that presidents have the right to pick their team,” Bush said while in New Hampshire.

So Governor Bush  . . . if a President were to want Jack the Ripper as their Surgeon General . . .?   Yes we are comparing Lynch to Jack the Ripper with reference to the Constitution.  And that whole “advice and consent” thing . . . is really a rubber stamp.

Also for the record: Senator Grassley has been a champ on the Lynch nomination through the entire process and he and Senator Ernst voted in opposition.  We thank them for their steadfastness.
