With regard to Pelosi Yards, (Baltimore riots)

  • The cause and the cause celeb
  • Camden Pelosi Yards — Nancy Pelosi’s father and brother both served as mayors there. Democrat control for nearly fifty years.
  • Will there be justice? The implications based on current developments . . .

From John Nolte writing at Breitbart:

Baltimore Is a Democrat Problem, Not America’s Problem

You can call the arson and looting and violence we are seeing on our television screens, rioting. That’s one way to describe the chaos. Another way to describe it is Democrat infighting. This is blue-on-blue violence. The thugs using the suspicious death of Freddie Gray (at the hands of a Democrat-led police department) to justify the looting that updates their home entertainment systems, are Democrats protesting Democrat leaders and Democrat policies in a Democrat-run city.

Poverty has nothing to do with it. This madness and chaos and anarchy is a Democrat-driven culture that starts at the top with a racially-divisive White House heartbreakingly effective at ginning up hate and violence.

Rich Lowry writing at National Review

Baltimore’s Poor Not Helped by Liberal Policies

President Obama doesn’t have the slightest idea how to fix Baltimore. His solutions fall back on liberal bromides going back 50 years.

Dating back to the Kerner Commission after the riots of the 1960s, the left’s go-to solution to urban problems has been more social programs. Since then, we’ve gotten more social programs — and just as many urban problems.

Exhibit A is Baltimore itself. The city hasn’t been “neglected.” It has been misgoverned into the ground. . . .

Except maybe Obama does know what he is doing to an extent —   Send the Reverend Al Sharpton down there. Why every young black will be inspired as to what they want to be when they grow up…a race baiting, tax evading ($4.5 million unpaid taxes!) charlatan and “go-to-guy” on race relations for the president of the United States.

Is it unfair to say, “the Brown Shirts are in place”? Led by BO’s reincarnation of Ernst Rohm, the Rev. Al.

Recall how quickly BO rushed to make inflammatory remarks over such incidents as the New Haven police “acting stupidly,” while admitting he didn’t know the facts, the Trayvon Martin travesty, Michael Brown, all intended to build resentments and a victim mentality among blacks. Holder sending a clear message that this administration will protect “its people” ( i.e., the New Black Panthers) from repercussions for their actions.

Now, riots are sweeping across the country, the racial conflict is building by the moment. Who can save us ? Why, our Dear Leader, of course. Perhaps with more “federal influence
and intrusion into local police matters.

New York Times — Obama Calls for Changes in Policing After Task Force Report

Baltimore Sun — Sharpton calls for justice department takeover of policing

Fulfilling a dream?

Intellihub –  Sharpton’s push for Department of Justice takeover aligns with President Obama’s past call for a Civilian National Security Force

Excessive force is wrong, heavy or punishing force when a suspect is not resisting is wrong. With that said objectively consider these videos from CNN.  Disregard the commentary from the CNN analyst. By the video (not taken by police) we do not see any intentional infliction or aggravation of a known injury.    Arrest Video      Transport Video

Black Lives Matter

Indeed.   Check out Freddie Gray’s rap sheet and reflect on how many protests we have seen that call for an end to black on black crime, such as pushing drugs and theft, activities that were very much a part of Mr Gray’s  work history.  Where were the protests against the likes of Freddie Gray as opposed to the police who try to protect blacks from such crime?

Freddie Gray’s arrest record , Note this is his publicly available arrest record as an adult.  His juvenile records are not available.

Where is the justice?

Liberal lawyer Alan Dershowitz: Charges Against Baltimore Cops Won’t Stick

” the mayor and the state attorney have made it virtually impossible for these defendants to get a fair trial. They have been presumed guilty.”

Clarice Feldman  The Great American Traveling Riot Circus

As can be expected Feldman provides a thorough report of the known facts and aptly characterizes the pursuit of “justice” by the Baltimore Mayor and District Attorney as more akin to a Roman circus.

To me, the very significant part of this entire story of an incredibly incompetent, irresponsible municipal government in Baltimore is the unbelievably despicable treatment of the police officers many believe are wrongly charged.

Several have been subject to $350,000 bail!

How many people realize that that means they or their families, relatives, or friends must PAY $35,000 to get these officers out of jail pending further legal action.

They do not get that $35,000 back…in addition to being liable for the full amount of $350,000 in the event the accuse flees.

How much of a “flight risk” do these officers represent to justify this amount of bail?

So whether or not they are found to be guilty of the charges, they or those who paid for their bond have been punished harshly…guilty or innocent! Do most of us have $35,000 lying around to spend in this way?

The implications

Charges against Baltimore officers could have chilling effect on law enforcement nationwide   Across country, police scrutinized after Baltimore arrests

And this might be my favorite passage from the story :

“If it’s a not-serious street crime, they are probably going to turn and go the other way,” said Frank Rotondo, a former policeman in New York state who now lobbies for police chiefs in Georgia. “They don’t want to be accused.”

“Rotondo said such a temptation might be strongest for white police officers who must decide whether to intervene in cases involving minority suspects.”

Did you catch that?

“If it’s not a serious street crime… must decide whether to intervene in cases involving minority suspects…”

With the new “awareness” of “too many incarcerations” of young black men and the increased scrutiny of every action a police officer takes in the course of a day on the streets, the bar is going to be set considerably higher as to what is not considered a “not-serious street crime”?

I would fear suggesting it to the likes of Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake of Baltimore, but the quickest way to drastically reduce the crime rate in her city is to do away with laws such as those against heroin dealing, home invasions, and assaults- with- intent and, of course , property damage in the course of rioting!

One Response to With regard to Pelosi Yards, (Baltimore riots)

  1. phil silverman says:

Pelosi’s Father? Very low class writing here, all the inferences that Libs cause inner city riots. No, no Conservatives have ever caused or inflamed “inner city tensions” > Limbaugh, Huckabee, O’Reilly, Ingraham, Gingrich never say “racist ” things because when they do the “real racists” point out t5he statements. hmmm.

AT LEAST the Libs (devoid of the DINO Dixiecrats) led the charge for Civil & Voting Rights. AT LEAST they have fought to actually fund inner city schools and transportation.

I see you mention “Sharpton” yet again…very handy little reference to obscure the race baitors AND extremists who bus in professional protestors to inflame so you guys can benefit at the election center.

and why so much automatic sympathy for the police in these cases? I bet you secretly rave about Mr. Zimmerman, the maniac who left his vehicle w a loaded gun, defying POLICE DEPT. orders!

    see you election nite.
