Liberals straining at stool

th-18Create “hornbook” for liberal speech police,

If you are white, a University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point article purports to define your interpersonal relationship with another individual “of color” by the very few words of a statement. Below is the chart from the published paper indicating the essence of how a “minority” should presume to be offended by a white person.   The chart’s microagression theme has been commented on in various conservative publications.  We add a few of our comments below each chart regarding some of the subject matter.  For brevity sake we have imbedded numbers to identify the row of subject matter referenced.

Every so called microaggresion listed could be entirely appropriate, innocent, neutral, non-aggressive. The presumption of the writer about the phraseology and the implied requirement of stilted, on-edge conversation we find appallingly illiberal. Readers can have a field day ridiculing each matter.

For example: Item 1 –  what if the Asian or Latin American speaks with an accent or they or relatives are known to be recent immigrants – is such a statement a microaggression?

It really gets confusing — by Item 1 we are not to acknowledge the possibility of a second language but in Item 3 we are not to presume to deny a person’s racial or ethnic experiences.

Item 4  lists components that are reasonable depending on the circumstance and we would point to none other than Jesse Jackson for support of that concept the chart master is oblivious to: http://theracecardproject.com/jesse-jackson-fears-black-youths-racism-2/

We could go on and on with each line item . . .

The alleged microaggression in Item 9 regarding building naming is beyond the pale for its fatuousness. Regarding overcrowding of public schools in “communities of color,”  where does that take place and who runs those cities or school districts? Are schools in those communities actually being shortchanged in terms of resources? The facts will show that to the extent it exists it is “communities of color” and supposedly race sensitive types that are responsible for running those schools, which by the way receive more per pupil for education than other schools. The problems politically and sociologically are primarily self inflicted.

The last part of Item 10 serves as an indictment of Hillary Clinton when she cranks up her patois

We await the chart of “microaggresions” regarding how “minorities” might offend other minorities and white folk.
