If this is as portrayed in this story, Boehner’s heir-apparent is even less competent than Boehner.   What a colossal blunder!

Kevin McCarthy goes on Fox’s most partisan show to admit the Benghazi hearings have no more purpose than to drive Hillary’s poll numbers down.

Gee. And I thought the hearings were intended to determine what happened in Benghazi for the purpose of National security and the Most fervent effort in the national interest.

Silly me.

Seriously, to me, this the week’s, no, month’s, no, maybe the millennia’s stupidest statement !

McCarthy links Benghazi panel to Clinton’s falling poll numbers

Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Tuesday evening linked the House Select Committee on Benghazi with Hillary Clinton’s dropping poll numbers.
“Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee,” McCarthy said on Fox News’s “Hannity.”

“What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she’s untrustable,” McCarthy continued.

“But no one would have known any of that had happened had we not fought and made that happen,” McCarthy said on Fox while making his pitch to become the next Speaker.

A spokesman for the Democratic presidential candidate immediately took to Twitter to highlight the remark:
Democrats on the committee have said the panel has run its course and have accused Republicans of making it a partisan vehicle to attack the former secretary of State.

The ranking Democrat on the Benghazi panel responded to McCarthy’s “stunning concession,” saying it showed “the core Republican goal” in creating the panel was to hurt Clinton politically.

Trey out, Trey in

Lawmaker: Trey Gowdy to leave the House after 2016

Majority leader?, OK maybe I can stay

Lawmaker reverses, says Gowdy will run again

We figured it out . . .

Gowdy said he wants to wrap-up the Benghazi work before leaving Congress this term. At the pace it’s been going and the select committee’s inability to get meaningful testimony from key witnesses, Gowdy would need to finish out the millennium. He must have meant leaving Congress before he is terminal.

Senate Dems meet to plot 2016 attacks on wealthy Koch brothers

Harry Reid invites David Brock to make the case that Democrats should attack the billionaire mega-donors

A coalition of deep-pocketed liberal groups ― including a pair of super PACs backing Hillary Clinton ― has been meeting quietly for months, examining the 2016 map and plotting attacks against the powerful Koch brothers’ network.

At midday Thursday, the architect of that effort, Clinton antagonist-turned-enforcer David Brock, is scheduled to present his findings ― complete with the back-up polling and research ― to the Senate Democratic Caucus, sources tell POLITICO.

House Republicans Consider Suing Obama  for Withholding Side Deals on Iran’s Nuclear Program

House Republicans are still considering a lawsuit and other measures to prevent the implementation of the Iran nuclear deal and the provision of billions of dollars in sanctions relief to Tehran, according to one of the leading lawmakers opposed to the agreement. Rep. Peter Roskam (R., Ill.) told the Washington Free Beacon in an interview that the Obama administration still needs to address a “serious legal question” about the nuclear deal and the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act, which allowed Congress to evaluate the agreement before it was fully implemented. According to the review act, lawmakers were supposed to be granted
