So big deal, whadya gunna do about it

That the Benghazi attack was instigated by a video was a concocted cover-up to hide policy failures: From Gary Bauer at Campaign for Working Families:

When Muammar Qaddafi was killed in October, Hillary jokingly paraphrased Julius Caesar, saying, “We came, we saw, he died.” It would be her “Mission Accomplished” moment.

Hillary Clinton wanted to make sure that everyone knew she drove our Libyan policy. She got this dictator, and it was all part of her “smart power” fundamental transformation of the Middle East.

But when Qaddafi’s removal led to a failed state, resulting in the chaos that led to the loss of four Americans a year later, suddenly Hillary had nothing to do with it. No longer was it her Libyan policy.

Malfeasance:

Here’s something else to consider. There were literally hundreds of requests for more security from Ambassador Stevens and other personnel stationed in Libya. Hillary Clinton claimed she never saw any of those requests. Clinton said she never even received a personal email from her friend, Ambassador Stevens.

But she was getting scores of emails, week after week, from Israel-hating Sid Blumenthal, who had financial interests in the overthrow of Qaddafi. What kind of State Department was she running when the pleas of our people on the ground never made it to her desk, but the self-interested messages of her crony capitalist friend demanded answers?

Hottest “smoking gun”

Dick Morris: GOP Now Has ‘Smoking Gun’ From Hillary on Benghazi (via Newsmax)

Questions from Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio “pointed to three pieces of evidence that showed clearly, indubitably, indisputably that Hillary Clinton knew this was a pre-meditated, pre-planned terrorist attack and specifically not a spontaneous reaction to a video that had gone awry as both she and [President Barack] Obama were claiming in public,” Morris said. . . .

All in order to avoid embarrassment over hers and Obama’s failures,  shoddy assessments and derelictions.

Additional shocking revelations:

Newsmax also provided a summation of 13 Shocking Revelations From Hillary’s Benghazi Hearing, written by Nick Sanchez.  Here are elements of that article, from some we draw additional inferences :

  • Clinton claimed : “I was not responsible for specific security requests and decisions,”

Veritas –  As head of all diplomatic missions someone out ranked you? Who might that be that could not be influenced by your concerns?  As regards underlings — then who was given day to day responsibility and what is their employment status? What kid of ship of state were you running? Regardless of any wrist slaps meted out, they need to be brought before the select committee to corroborate Hillary Clinton’s testimony.

  • Clinton likely never spoke to Stevens between his swearing-in in May 2012 and before his death on Sept. 11, 2012
  • Clinton:  “Chris Stevens had an opportunity to reach me anytime he thought there was something of importance,”
  • Clinton “I do not believe he had my personal email . . . He had the direct line to people he had worked with for years,”

Veritas: so with all the documented requests from Ambassador Stevens regarding security you were unaware of his concerns and elected not to have direct communication with a hand picked person in a diplomatic hot spot?

  • The committee doesn’t have all of Stevens’ emails — “I might add for the record: we do not, still, to this day, have all of Chris Stevens’ emails,” Rep. Susan Brooks, R-Indiana, said to Clinton, according to Mediate. “We received 1,300 more this week, we received most of them last week. We don’t have the universe, yet, of Ambassador Stevens’ emails.”

Beyond the Newsmax list of shocks we note that Clinton at one point responded that she had some 240 diplomatic missions she was responsible for as if to say she was incredibly busy to be troubled by problems in Libya.  We here at Veritas are wondering what was going on from Fiji to Finland; Iceland to Ireland; Luxembourg to the Netherlands  requiring her personal attention.

Much is being made by Democrats of the costs of the congressional hearings into this matter by various committees, a subject which was ably dealt with by Chairman Gowdy in his opening remarks – our interpretation of his comments being that had the committees been constituted properly and  received the  cooperation called for, progress in uncovering the truth could have been made.  Further, we agree with the sentiment expressed by others to the effect:

The cost besides the instigating four dead Americans –  about what we pay for two rounds of golf for Obama.
