Will Republicans in the Senate save the Republican Party . . .

. . . by getting sufficient concessions on the Ryan approved House budget?

Probably not, but if not, Republican presidential candidates will have to run even more so against the Republican party in order to win.

Senate to vote on budget tonight?  Rand Paul and others to filibuster?

This Boehner-Obama Deal Is Getting Worse All The Time

The Boehner-Obama budget deal is unnecessary and wrong, and the way it’s happening will hurt Republicans.

Limbaugh: GOP leaders ‘prefer Hillary’ as president

‘They’re not even pretending to be an opposition party’

“This budget deal essentially paves the way for Hillary Clinton to become president,” Limbaugh said

“This is rubber-stamp liberal Democrat budgetary philosophy. This violates every pledge and promise that they’ve made in election campaigns going back to 2010, repeated in 2012 during the presidential race and repeated again in 2014.”

He said Republicans have harmed themselves tremendously in the upcoming election, presuming Mrs. Clinton wins the nomination.

“When you can’t go after the Democrat presidential nominee for who she and what she will do … what in the world are you going to campaign against her on? … What’s gonna be the primary campaign message when all of this is off the table?”

The article also exposes how bad Romney has proven to be.

This Is the Worst Budget Deal GOP Has Negotiated Since George H.W. Bush Violated No New Taxes Pledge

The vote was 266 for including 79 Republicans. Opposing the measure were 167 Republicans and no Democrats.  The ratio was then two to one of the Republican caucus opposing the measure but Boehner and Ryan pushed it anyway. Iowa’s three Republican congressmen voted against the House approved budget, yes including Young. Roll call here.

The 79 Republicans in support were mostly no names and back-benchers however Boehner, Paul Ryan and Scalise were among them. The Republican establishment wanted this to happen.

How will the Republican presidential candidates be able to make the case for themselves as Republicans, calling on people to trust them and attesting to the party’s fiscal responsibility?

Rand Paul on Budget Deal: ‘I’m Going to Do Everything in My Power to Stop It’

“I will do everything I can do stop it. I will filibuster it,” Paul told reporters. “I will not let them condense the time, I will make sure that the country is aware that really both sides appear to have given up right and left.”

One Response to Will Republicans in the Senate save the Republican Party . . .

    Here’s your answer:
This is the GOP’s “3 AM call”:
“Senate Republicans managed to wrangle enough of their troops to overcome a filibuster early Friday morning and pass the new budget deal, granting President Obama yet another debt holiday, busting the budget caps and boosting spending some $80 billion over the next two years.

Democrats, who are far more thrilled with the deal, did the heavy lifting, providing most of the votes as they won some $40 billion in new domestic spending in 2016 and 2017. They also forced the GOP to retreat on the hard-fought 2011 budget agreement that had helped bring deficits back under control.”
