Reminders of Jeb’s award to Hillary waiting in wings
Peggy Noonan (a well-known GW Bush hater) has declared that the JEB Bush campaign for the GOP nomination is dead.
The Not Ready for Prime Time Bush (Wall Street Journal)
We have yet to understand Ms. Noonan’s widely acclaimed erudition on political matters (she fell in virtual love with Obama upon his 2008 election, only later to apparently endure “unrequited love” from Barack). For us she is most famous for what we perceive as a permanent snit because GW Bush apparently did not recognition her”genius” when she did some scribbling for President Reagan and thus did not select her for some high level post in his administration.
Nevertheless we are inclined to see some logic in Peggy’s declaration but it would, it seems to us, be completely fulfilled if someone boldly recalled Jeb’s moving presentation to Hillary for her immense and valuable public service to the nation.
That was back in 2013 and readers can update themselves on that “momentous occasion” by going to this February 2015 Daily Signal link,
Conservative Group Brands Jeb Bush ‘Unelectable’ for Giving Medal to Hillary Clinton
An excerpt from it:
In a press release about the Liberty Medal, the Philadelphia-based museum said Clinton would receive the 2013 honor “in recognition of her lifelong career in public service and her ongoing advocacy efforts on behalf of women and girls around the globe.” It noted that Bush, “chair of the National Constitution Center, will award the prestigious medal to Secretary Clinton” as part of the televised 25th annual ceremony.
The group ForAmerica released the one-minute video this morning. ForAmerica is one of several Virginia-based educational nonprofits run by L. Brent Bozell III, perhaps best known for heading the Media Research Center.
“It’s bad enough that Hillary Clinton will likely use footage from this event against any Republican nominee,” Bozell said in a release sent to The Daily Signal, “but if Jeb Bush is her opponent she will make him look ridiculous.”
Another gem from an AP report on the occasion:
“Jeb and I are not just renewing an American tradition of bipartisanship. We’re keeping up a family tradition as well,” Clinton said.”
Brent Bozell of For America commented at the time:
“Jeb has absolutely no credibility to criticize [Hillary Clinton] because he has already anointed her as a great public servant.”
