Pope: Climate Change Agreement ‘Now or Never,’ Humanity on the ‘Edge of Suicide’
At times, it appears that0, in addition to their mutual contempt for capitalism and most things America, and their embrace of socialism and forced redistribution of wealth, Pope Francis and President Obama seem to share another characteristic. Both at times seem to take themselves way beyond earthly seriousness. Barack Obama has consistently exhibited his apparent confidence that he is so much beyond mortal intelligence, insight, and ability that he is not a mere creation, but likely the Creator himself.
Pope Francis, in his endearing humility and compassion and his vast knowledge of economics, chemistry, climate science, politics, and you name it, on occasion gives the impression that he is possibly not merely a “vicar”, but…
Anyway, in his latest “pronouncements”, the Pontiff declares that the world is on the verge of committing “suicide” unless, what?…stop producing energy? erect 10 trillion windmills?(Tom Steyer, and Jeff Immelt would love that!). Francis also delivers his judgment that Africa is poor because rich nations have exploited those countries. Nothing of course to do with the massive, pervasive corruption of African leaders for centuries. In the Pope’s view, any nation that has raised its peoples’ living standards and provided a model for the world to replicate, has done it only by exploiting other nations.
And that’s why His Holiness loves poverty… it is pure, and without sin? DLH
