Consider the WSJ as the voice of the GOPe. . .

. . .  and the rest of it as part of the liberal MSM choir

They serve to identify Cruz as the conservative to beat

Of course we have known for a long time that the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) can be expected to shill for the GOPe. But it has not stopped us from appreciating and linking to its editorial page columnists when they offer conservative insight.  By our own interpretation as well, we have to agree with Erick Erickson, late of Red State but now focused on an internet radio program, that the WSJ is gunning for Ted Cruz. In doing so we expect they are trying to promote Marco Rubio. Because of the WSJ’s notoriety for GOPe mouthings, Erickson sums up that in their treatment of Cruz and his positions they anoint him as the conservative candidate. Thank you WSJ.

From Erickson’s article The Wall Street Journal editorial board Endorses Ted Cruz

Ted Cruz has been a particular target for the Journal. The editorials against Cruz read like they were hand delivered by Mitch McConnell’s office, or in the present case Marco Rubio’s campaign. Their latest assails Ted Cruz for thinking we should stay out of Syria’s civil war instead of trying to topple the Assad regime. They also pick up the Team Rubio attack on Ted Cruz for “opposition to the National Security Agency’s bulk telephony metadata collection programs.”

These are talking points straight from Team Rubio. The Journal, which always picks the side of the GOP Establishment, has decided that Rubio, not Jeb Bush, is their guy and they must now spill as much ink as possible to stop his biggest threat — Ted Cruz. Consider that a very strong endorsement of Ted Cruz. If the Journal’s editorial board is against him, he’s probably awesome.

On Syria Cruz is taking an appropriately careful approach, limiting U.S. involvement to when it is timely and clearly in our interests, not fomenting regime change when the results are unknown or predictably worse. That the WSJ also attacks Cruz for a rigorous adherence to the Fourth Amendment regarding unreasonable searches and seizures and concerns about the implications of big government data aggrandizement we also see a neon sign for Rand Paul supporters, on those scores Cruz should be your next best candidate and the most likely to be able to stop Bush/ Rubio.

We also remind our fellow Cruz supporters about how clever the GOPe is in their tactical efforts to denigrate Cruz. NOT!  These people are far removed from grassroots concerns on immigration, and the size and scope of government. But they do realize that Cruz is the effective counter to them, the most “dangerous.”   Rubio and the Rubio aligned no-it-all Super PACs are so clever that they run ads in Iowa essentially calling Cruz a traitor for his vote to control NSA surveillance when Iowa’s beloved Senator Chuck Grassley voted the same way along with 21 other Republican senators. Traitors all!!
