Understanding Rubio and Cruz foreign policy differences

This insightful piece, however long,  is worth the effort.

A Stark Choice: Ted Cruz’s Jacksonian Americanism vs. Marco Rubio’s Wilsonian Internationalism

It is provocative. In slogging through, at times I was annoyed by the direction it seemed to take as regards GW Bush’s response to the fix we were in as a result of 911. In the end though, it explains a lot, providing useful distinctions.

Unsurprising but nonetheless infuriating.

Good old “Jeff”. Have never liked the guy*. He is Establishment through and through, at the worst, extreme. The Senator’s last name is both a proper noun and a proper description of the man.

Jeff Flake Visits Islamic Extremist Who Chastised Moderate Muslims

The profile is from Mark Levin’s Conservative Review. A profile from the Conservative Review.  Jeff Flake “is NOT who we are”.

What next? “The Little Bohemian, Hitler’s struggle to save Germany”

I came to my coffee joint this AM prepared to write on this subject. Happily I ran across this piece and it saves me from a time consuming catharsis. The very idea of making a film with the deliberate aim to somehow make Ted Kennedy a conflicted, deep-down virtuous ‘victim’ is so abhorrent to me I’m disgusted to even read the “Hollywood Reporter” account of the film-maker’s intentions.

I’ve always kind of made a hobby out of getting as many facts as I could about Chappaquiddick, because Kennedy is such a repellent individual. The very best account of the events before, during, and after this event is a book, “Senatorial Privilege“, long out of print (I have a copy which they will have to pry from my cold dead hands), but a detailed agonizing account that makes one vomit every time you consider this guy being reelected numerous times after.

And now, a film that will “educate” the last three and all future generations on the virtuous life of the Senate’s “Liberal Lion” and Catholic Church “hero” who by the way only became more vociferous in pushing the legal destruction of unborn members of the human family and at taxpayer expense!

John Hinderaker writing at Power Line (excerpt below) also invokes the recent lickspittle of a movie about Dan Rather’s attempted journalistic assassination of President and candidate George W Bush.  What’s next . . . making hero’s out of Dalton Trumbo  perhaps?

From John Hinderaker at Power Line: FIRST TRUTH, NOW CHAPPAQUIDDICK

Written by Taylor Allen and Andrew Logan, Chappaquiddick is political thriller that unveils the true story of what is described as the seven most dramatic days of Senator Ted Kennedy’s life.

True story? We’ll see. I don’t doubt that these were the seven most dramatic days of Ted’s life–only political corruption spared him from a jail term–but more significantly, it was the last day of Mary Jo Kopechne’s life.

On the eve of the moon landing, Senator Kennedy becomes entangled in a tragic car accident that results in the death of former Robert Kennedy campaign worker Mary Jo Kopechne. The Senator struggles to follow his own moral compass and simultaneously protect his family’s legacy, all while simply trying to keep his own political ambitions alive.

[UPDATE: I meant to note the passive voice–Kennedy “becomes entangled in a tragic car accident…” Kennedy didn’t “become entangled,” he was the driver and singlehandedly caused the accident that killed Miss Kopechne. There was no “entanglement,” there was only Kennedy’s incompetence, cowardice and callous disregard for his passenger’s life.]

Kennedy’s own “moral compass” was so inadequate that he left Kopechne to die, tried to persuade his cousin to take the rap, and attempted to create an alibi

Simple questions: Is Hillary guilty of at least one criminal violation?

Of course this puts the ball in Loretta Lynch’s court and is there any doubt how that game will end up?  Does anyone have any doubt that Attorney General Lynch will do anything other than what we saw in her fine work on the IRS case?

After all folks, this is the Obama administration and Ms. Lynch and the other key players are all this president’s picks…John Kerry, Jeh Johnson, “Ash” Carter, Gina McCarthy (EPA), Tom Vilsack, Sylvia Mathews Burwell,…do we need say any more?

Sources: Review affirms Clinton server emails were ‘top secret,’ despite department challenge

“While the classification finding is important, the central issue is whether the FBI investigation concludes there was or was not a criminal violation.”
