Naval vessels occupied, US armed forces preoccupied

Secretary Kerry:

“I’m appreciative for the quick and appropriate response of the Iranian authorities… and I think we can all imagine how a similar situation might have played out three or four years ago.”

We have suggested previously that our nation’s enemies must be absolutely stunned at the ease with which they are able to humiliate the greatest superpower on earth.

The Taliban was able to trade one U.S. deserter (alleged, of course) for 5 of their top terrorist leaders, and more than likely, an additional cash “settlement”. We suspect the guys who “negotiated that deal for the Taliban may well have lost their heads when the leadership learned how desperately Obama wanted a deal and how inept his administration is as negotiators. They may have gotten California and Oregon in return for Bergdahl without even bargaining hard!

Almost a year ago, under Obama, our U.S. Marines suffered an unbelievable embarassment. The greatest military organization in the world was forced to surrender their weapons before they were “allowed” to leave Yemen. Our embassy there was closed out of fear of the rag tag Houthi rebels and our marines were evacuated from the country by civilian aircraft and not permitted to take their weapons with them!

And then there is this week’s humiliation of American Navy personnel by the iranian government…accompanied by what can be characterized as a darkly comical expression of “sincere” gratitude for returning them by our caricature of a Secretary of State!

The United States of America is being seen as a global laughing stock. For Obama, that’s a wish fulfilled. for the truly pathetic John Kerry, he considers it the professional highlight of his life.

MEANWHILE, “Ash” Carter, our Secretary of Defense is preoccupied with all out recruiting efforts to rectify the alarming “shortfall” in the number of transgenders represented in our armed forces while reducing its force levels and firepower to nearly unprecedented levels. His Secretary of the Navy, Roy Mabus, is busily ordering commanders of elite combat units to concentrate their efforts to bring women into their units regardless of whatever it takes. Obama’s other Defense Dept. minions are wrapping up the purge of the experienced, accomplished, dedicated, decorated military leaders throughout all branches of the Services.

The greatest concern of this administration’s national defense establishment is the need for anti-discrimination, gender identity, anti-sexual harassment training and an overall effort to be more “welcoming” to the LGBT. Our answer to the growing threats around the world is to drastically reduce the size of our military.

In addition Obama is aggressively restocking the leadership ranks of our terrorist enemies as he empties Gitmo, even as he brags about how he’s decimated the AlQaeda and Taliban.

Our allies are realizing that America is no longer an ally, or even an effective military, diplomatic, or economic force for the free world. Our enemies are rejoicing that the “Great Satan” is being undermined by its own president, even as they try to understand how a society’s population can voluntarily install such a “leader”…electing him twice.

In our opinion, the destruction of this nation, the dismantling of our military establishment, the erosion of America’s cultural, economic, and social structures, the abject surrender to its most merciless enemies, will not just continue in the year ahead but will accelerate and possibly if not probably to the point it is irreversible, undeterred, because of the lack of leadership in the supposed opposition party.

Obama’s Humiliation

The Obama Administration is on “spin overdrive” trying to downplay Iran’s seizure of two U.S. ships and ten sailors. Secretary of State John Kerry literally thanked the Iranians for their help. Vice President Joe Biden brushed off the incident, saying, “This was just standard nautical practice.”

Standard practice? Sorry, Joe, but we’re not that dumb.

The front page of today’s Washington Post features outrageous photos, provided by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRG), of Barack Obama’s latest humiliation of America. See them here.

They show our sailors on their knees, hands behind their heads, as prisoners of the IRG. In another photo, the lone female sailor is seen wearing an Islamic headscarf. I’m fairly certain that is not standard issue in the U.S. Navy. Iran’s theocratic thugs forced her to demonstrate her submission by putting it on.

The chief of staff of the Iranian Army said yesterday that the seizure of our patrol boats “should be a lesson to troublemakers in the U.S. Congress.” (The House of Representatives yesterday voted to maintain certain sanctions against the Revolutionary Guard Corps.)

An Iranian admiral said that his missile forces had targeted the USS Harry Truman and that their communications with us made it clear that “the [Iranian] Navy has the first and the last word” in the Persian Gulf.

And Iranian state television broadcast what it said was a confession and apology from the commanding U.S. officer.

Does that sound like standard practice in a friendly rescue to you?

Human rights experts are pointing out that Iran’s behavior likely violated the Geneva Conventions regarding the treatment of captured military personnel. And even if there was mechanical trouble, the Iranians had no right to seize and detain our sailors.

Yet they did, and pointedly humiliated them. And the always compliant Obama Administration says, “Thank you.”

WWRD — What Would Reagan Do?

Barack Obama is not the first president to run into trouble with the Iranians over free passage in the Persian Gulf. What would Ronald Reagan do (WWRD)?

Well, we don’t have to guess. Ronald Reagan demonstrated how an American president should respond to such aggression after an American ship struck an Iranian mine on April 14, 1988.

Reagan said, “They must know that we will protect our ships, and if they threaten us, they will pay a price.” Indeed they did!

Reagan ordered Operation Praying Mantis, and within 24 hours the United States Navy had decimated Iran’s naval forces.
