Huh? Glenn Beck Tells Iowa Crowd He Prefers Bernie Sanders Over Donald Trump

It is one thing to say you can’t vote for Trump, or the GOPe any longer, but to throw your vote to a socialist?  The quote does not precisely say he would but it is an ill-considered statement. It is not the kind of help Cruz needs.

And then there is Senator Ernst as quoted in the Washington Examiner

Sen. Joni Ernst is set to appear on the campaign trail Monday with Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio with only a week until the Iowa caucuses kick off.

Ernst, who maintained she is remaining neutral in the race, will be introducing Rubio at an event in Des Moines.   . . .

“As I have made clear, I will not be endorsing in the caucuses; that is a promise I will maintain to Iowans,” Ernst continued. “On Monday, I look forward to introducing Marco to more Iowans and discussing the important work needed to keep our nation safe and secure.”

What the h-ll are you talking about Senator? You are campaigning with Rubio but not endorsing him????

Seriously Senator . . . “a good friend,. . . someone that I trust to secure our country.”

You have been in the Senate one year and in that year he hasn’t been there much.

And then . . . “As I have made clear, I will not be endorsing in the caucuses; that is a promise I will maintain to Iowans,”

Again Senator . . . but you will parade him around — isn’t what you are doing a distinction without a difference — and your pledge broken in all practicality? We are fighting back the urge to call your statement positively Clin #$*ian or even goobernatorial.

A passing observation: There is an understandable affinity between Sen. Ernst and her “good friend”, Marco. Both campaigned for their Senate seats with a rather distinct “Tea Party” theme. In almost record time, however, upon arriving in D.C., both willingly fell under the spell of the warm establishment embrace of Uncle Mitch.
