Cruz wins but Marco gets inordinate press

NOW WHY DO YOU ‘SPOSE THE ESTABLISHMENT HAS FALLEN IN LOVE WITH MARCO?

We think we know. Rubio has actually been a GOP establishment “darling” ever since he arrived in Washington, in our opinion.

Rubio ran hard as a Tea Party candidate against Democrat Kendrick Meek and “Independent” (former Republican, later Democrat) “Popular” Charlie Crist in the 2012 Senatorial campaign.

Marco seemed to be the real deal conservative, reflecting all the values and aspirations of Florida voters…until he got off the plane in DC. The establishment of both parties sized him up and quickly determined that good old Marco was an easy ‘mark’.

Before he’d unpacked his bags Senator Rubio was out front with Chuck Schumer (D,NY) and Uncle Mitch gently prodding him from behind, carrying the banner for the “Gang of Eight’s” bill aimed at providing amnesty for the millions of illegal immigrants.

It was also quickly apparent that Marco could adopt a “moderate” stance on any issue the “DC boys” desired of him.

Of course this year’s presidential campaign has seen Marco more or less repudiate his co-sponsorship of that piece of fortunately failed legislation…but the GOP establishment knows what they have in Mr. Rubio.

To them, he is still “Marco the Mark’ and “Rubio the Rube”, eager to please Mitch and Paul (Ryan), Chuck and Nancy and the US Chamber of Commerce and the Wall Street Journal. With JEB and Kasich, and Christie as abject failures to conceal their establishment impulses, Marco Rubio is now their guy.

He will no longer have to grovel for cash and media/editorial support.

He is “The Champion”!

Marco Rubio emerges as champion of battered Republican establishment

PS in Iowa it might be because the Republican establishment considers him the last creat GOP hope for ethanol mandates.
