“The future does not belong to those who would slander the Great President…”

My thoughts regarding the sudden and extraordinarily “untimely” passing of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

First, I join millions of Americans in mourning the loss of one of this nation’s greatest jurists. Oh sure, he had his shortcomings. He was a white man. He believed strongly in the greatness of this country. He thought the Constitution was one of history’s greatest documents which enabled every one of its citizens to seek and achieve all of the fruits of a free and well-ordered society… one designed to establish and sustain a government which serves its people and not one which its people serve the narrow interests of a ruling class.

With all these “shortcomings”, he was able to maintain a cheerful and likable demeanor.
His passing is truly a sad moment for Justice Scalia’s family, his many friends and admirers and for the United States of America.

Justice Scalia’s death, however, is more than a sad departure from this life but it is, in my opinion, the most significant event, perhaps, for America in the nearly 300 years since its founding!

The term “tipping point” does not even begin to describe the impact of this great man’s passing at this critical time.

  • Contrary to the term typically applied in the unexpected passing of a person, for Barack Obama, Scalia’s death is very timely. The more cynical among us believe that Obama must feel that Allah has looked with great approval upon his loyal servant, the “future does not belong to those who would slander the President/Prophet”, as it were.
  • For America, the consequences which will flow from this tragic event…which will include the Supreme Court’s demolition of the US Constitution, including elimination of the *1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th amendments, and the establishment of absolute rule of the Executive, possibly even finding the 22nd Amendment “unconstitutional”.
  • Not that it matters (with 4 Justices,unswervingly committed to a “living” Constitution, abetted by the firmly Democrat Party- packed Appellate judiciary), but I would suggest that it is likely that Obama, soon to have nominated Justice Scalia’s replacement, will see him or her confirmed well before the November election. As with the other Obama appointments, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, Ash Carter, Sotomayor, and many other clearly committed leftist “anti-Constitutionalists” and assorted incompetents who do what they’re told, GOP senators like McCain, Graham, Orrin Hatch, and other establishment barons will undoubtedly find great qualities to admire in Obama’s nominee, regardless whom, and will hasten to affirm this president’s “right” to have his selections confirmed.
  • Was there any “foul play”involved in Scalia’s death?  Despite the circumstances as currently known, and the extraordinarily “convenient” timing to complete the fulfillment of Obama’s promise to “fundamentally transform” this nation, I must leave it to far better schooled conspiracy theorists to determine.
  • My initial feeling was, if there is a Supreme Being ‘out there’, whether Allah or Christ or any Other, to have permitted this, He Or She must really be pissed at the United States of America.  That is the sadness that engulfs when a great and noble person dies.  And look at the state of the country. I mean, perhaps too subtly that one need not be a Christian, an evangelical, Buddhist, or any “believer” to know that abortion is a fundamental evil and people who may be “gender confused” are to be shown compassion and offered psychiatric help, but not to be celebrated and joined in indulging in their affliction. Yet that is where the country is at in terms of leadership.

With Justice Scalia’s passing, what rights are at risk if not on the chopping block?

  • Freedom of Speech, Press, Religion and Petition
  • Right to keep and bear arms
  • Right of search and seizure regulated
  • Provisions concerning prosecution
  • Right to a speedy trial, witnesses, etc.
  • Right to a trial by jury
  • Rule of construction of Constitution  (the enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
  • Rights of the States under Constitution

These rights Justice Scalia championed (not to short change the consistency of Justices Thomas and Alito). Always a wonderment as to their security with Kennedy and Roberts, such rights are at risk with Scalia’s  passing, certainly by increment.  No doubt the God that called Justice Scalia home could call a liberal justice to their eternal reward. But who has great confidence that occurrence would not result in Republican “leadership”awarding a liberal replacement, rather than move to do the best for what the Constitution calls for and the country needs?

An Obama nominee that Republicans can love.

Sri Srinivasan, who is he? Scalia’s possible replacement?   (If Obama had a jurist cousin, he would look just like him).

Just think of it. An Obama nominee that Republicans can love…just as they’ve happily embraced other Obama nominees…Elena Kagan, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch…and on and on.

Although Mitch McConnell has announced that a nomination will not be taken up under this president, let’s just see. Somebody like John McCain, or Lindsey Graham, Or Orrin Hatch, will suggest that since old “Sri” here is just so qualified, and obviously bi- or non-partisan, we ought just go ahead and confirm him. After all, independents will appreciate our willingness to be fair and to give our president his due. The press will commend our party for doing the right thing…and congressional dysfunction will be ended.
