As The Temptations’ heartbreaking hit, *”Ain’t too proud to Beg” played softly in the background, the GOP’s Great (White) Hope, William Tecumseh Ryan issued his latest announcement that his establishment handlers must step up their game to convince the party’s base that the direst fate facing humanity can be averted only if Mrs. Ryan will let Paulie run!
Obviously distraught at Speaker Ryan’s version of General Sherman’s famous “…If nominated I shall not run…” declaration, Senator John McCain, no doubt choking back tears, said, “None of this is going to turn out well for the Republican Party”. Now we didn’t hear him say it, but we know he must have been thinking, “…this could be my second chance!”

Is half a man with no sense of pride
But if I have to cry to keep you,
I don’t mind weepin’ if it’ll keep you by my side
Ain’t too proud to beg, sweet darlin
