Don’t lose sight that Hillary is that bad

th-40At the conclusion of my venting about the results (and implications) of Tuesday’s Indiana Republican primary  I  offered that: We are certainly welcome to indeed plead for other ideas, embellishments,  alternatives, more studied references and objections.  None other than Veritaspac.com’s illustrious Senior Editor DLH called this opinionator to task. I continue to see the primary debacle as “a sign” to study alternatives to the possibly irretrievable Republican Party as structured. As part of that I will drink of such wise counsel as set forth below.

OK. We get it. Trump is an “ass clown”…a reprehensible philanderer and con artist…and so on and so on.

But I can hardly wait for Veritaspac to get its apparent “Trump bitterness” out of its system .

My personal choice for the nomination was Ted Cruz. Like my good friend and the founder, executive chairman, and most prolific writer of Veritaspac, Roger Mall, I, too, am extremely disappointed that he will not be. I believe that America and the world will suffer greatly because Senator Cruz will not succeed the most destructive president in American history, Barack Hussein Obama.

It is time now, however, to get behind one of the only (apparently) two alternatives to lead a badly damaged nation in the next four years.

In my view that would be Donald Trump.

I am under no illusions that he is the best person the nation could have chosen. He has a lot of baggage. He is one of the most unpredictable people in public life today. I am apprehensive about the decisions he will make if he becomes our 45th US president. (Very sadly and fearfully, I have no apprehensions about the decisions a Hillary or a Bernie would make…Goodbye America!)

He has captured the imagination of many Americans, however, certainly many registered Republicans as well as a significant number of “Independents” and Democrats for the promises he has made.

Out of control illegal immigration, soaring national debt, damaging trade policies, a dangerous, irresponsible Iranian nuclear agreement, and an incredibly feckless GOP congressional majority…among many issues which reflect the mood of a justifiably angry electorate and which Trump has suggested he will and can effectively address if elected.

I also have no illusions that he will face overwhelming opposition from local and national news media, as would any Republican nominee. And he has much in his background to feed the relentless attacks against him.

The GOP establishment, the “donor class”, the opportunistic progressive Republicans in the House and Senate opposed the Trump candidacy from the start but were more opposed to Ted Cruz who embodied what they most fear…a true conservative so qualified and so skilled and so determined that only a concerted campaign of hate and gross distortion could keep his voice from advancing the true conservative principles a majority of “voiceless” Americans crave.

Now that Trump has won the nomination on the strength of righteous voter anger at the traitorous GOP establishment, the sorest losers (i.e.. the Bushes, the Ben Sasses, the George Will type of “conservative” pundits) will threaten to take their marbles over to Hillary. But, eventually as this campaign rolls on, the GOP’s ruling class will attempt to exploit what they believe is the true “ideology” of the Donald… crass, progressive craving for power and money.

This we shall see. Will he “deal” with the establishment? Will he really try to do the things so abhorrent to them that he’s threatened, and promised, to do…close the borders, invalidate the destructive Obama trade bill, rescind the illegal, unconstitutional executive agreements, roll back the economy- destroying Obama regulatory disasters?

As every other conservative, I don’t know…possibly neither does Mr. Trump. Hopefully, he will recall that that’s what got him here!

But Veritaspac…We have been and will continue to be, bombarded by all the anti-Trump stories, commentaries, interviews, etc. from phony “conservative” pundits (G. Will), RINO GOP congressmen and senators, the Wall Street Journal, the National Review, the Republican has-beens (the Bushes, Boehner), the Republican wannabes (Ben Sasse). Oh, and the leftist press as well. The anti-Trump forces really need no more help from conservative outlets like Veritaspac.

So, with the pressure of our grief relieved, could we now focus on the one or two possible downsides of a Hillary Clinton presidency? Surely there’s something in her background which might tarnish her candidacy; or maybe some of the things she promises when she’s elected? There might even be a link or two to stories and columns which are as unfavorable to her as the many we’ve seen about Trump, courtesy of Veritaspac in recent days.
