- Who will argue?
- Trump to be given Palin treatment
- Benghazi victims could have been saved
- The distinction seems so weak

This is intriguing. It “appears” to be little more than a confirmation of what any of us who track politics already know.
Although it is said to be from a Democrat I’m willing, however, to give odds for a modest wager that it is a hoax…probably written by a cynical, but aware, political ‘junkie’ (not a current or former congressman, and definitely not a Democrat)…likely a conservative (No! It’s not me; but, it could be YOU.) Excerpts:
‘My main job is to keep my job, to get reelected. It takes precedence over everything,’ an anonymous member of Congress writes in a new book
‘Voters are incredibly ignorant and know little about our form of government and how it works,’ he writes
It’s far easier than you think to manipulate a nation of naive, self-absorbed sheep who crave instant gratification’
More from the referenced book:
‘Most of my colleagues are dishonest career politicians who revel in the power and special-interest money that’s lavished upon them,’ the author writes.
‘Fundraising is so time consuming I seldom read any bills I vote on. Like many of my colleagues, I don’t know how the legislation will be implemented, or what it’ll cost.’
Washington Post assigns army of 20 to dig into ‘every phase’ of Trump’s life
Via Paul Bedard at the Washington Examiner:
The Washington Post has built a sizable army of reporters to dig into every facet of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s life, urged on by new owner Jeff Bezos to reveal everything about the potential nominees.
Post Associate Editor Bob Woodward revealed Wednesday that the Post has assigned 20 staffers to Trump. In addition the paper plans a book.
“There’s a lot we don’t know,” he told the National Association of Realtors convention in Washington. “We have 20 people working on Trump, we’re going to do a book, we’re doing articles about every phase of his life,” he added.
Woodward, who has interviewed Trump, said that he has begun looking into Trump’s New York real estate deals. “The New York real estate world is more complex than the CIA,” he said.
It worked for them against Sarah Palin…spectacularly! and against virtually every other potentially successful Republican candidate. Sadly, it’s the Republican voters who are the first to fall for it.
I wonder how much is being invested in joke and skit writers for JimmyFfallon, Saturday Night Live, and all the TV sitcoms and dramas.
Air Force whistleblower: We could have saved Benghazi victims
Via Joel Gehrke at The Washington Examiner
An Air Force whistleblower says his team could have provided reinforcements to the Americans under attack in Benghazi in September 2012, contrary to the Obama administration’s claims that the military provided the maximum possible support for the embattled diplomatic staff.
“I definitely believe that our aircraft could have taken off and got there in a timely manner, maybe three hours at the most, in order to basically at least stop that second mortar attack and have those guys running for the hills,” a man purportedly stationed at Aviano Air Force base in Italy told Fox News on the condition of anonymity.
“That frustrates Gowdy, who accused the Obama administration of preventing him from talking to all the relevant witnesses. “As a former federal prosecutor, I find it deeply troubling there are individuals who would like to share their stories, but have not because they are afraid of retaliation from their superiors,” he said in a Wednesday evening response to the Fox report. “No one should be afraid of talking to their elected representatives in Congress.”
Gowdy gets “frustrated” a lot, it seems. For this one time “great hope”, Gowdy is a spectacular failure, (if not something more sinister, appointed by a former establishment Speaker of the House to deliberately ‘pose’ and ultimately, fail, like himself). More reading here.
Shouldn’t be too hard. i thought they already had. the dems might even retain paul ryan as speaker. they couldn’t achieve any more with nancy than they already have with him.

Democrats are increasingly bullish about their chances to take back the Senate, where Republicans now dominate 54-46, with Trump atop the Republican ticket. The challenges for Democrats in the lower chamber, however, where Republicans outnumber them 246 to 188, are much steeper. They hope a landslide win by Hillary Clinton, their likely presidential nominee, would lead to significant gains in the House, but plenty would have to break their way to have a legitimate shot at retaking the chamber.
Democrats have made their strategy clear: link every Republican to Trump at every opportunity. At a press conference Wednesday, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi pointed out Trump’s controversial and offensive statements, comparing them to rhetoric from House Republicans, arguing they are inextricably linked regardless of whether individual members support their party nominee. Asked afterwards whether Democrats are in a position to regain their majority, Pelosi answered, “Of course.”
We wonder if they will want to link their candidates with Hillary?
