All election/referendum votes are not created equal

Don’t rule out a second EU referendum, says Tony Blair as more than THREE MILLION sign petition demanding a re-run and Labour MP calls for Commons to overturn result

MAKE A NOTE OF THIS, CONSERVATIVES. IF WE DON’T LIKE HILLARY’S ELECTION, WE’LL DEMAND ANOTHER

The EU “petitioners” have not, as far as I can determine, said if their plea is granted and they win a rerun, would the losing “Exit” voters be granted their petition for a third EU referendum ?

What’s your guess?     DLH

Managing editor chimes in . . .

If the “leave” vote (a.k.a. Brexit) referendum can be redone because 3 million who no doubt voted against it want it to, then the “leave” vote should say now “two can play the game.”  But the Blair types have a problem, as much of the financial reportage is now not so adverse.

It would be ridiculous if England’s referendum rules allow a vote on the same matter in a short period of time. They should not, only in the case of clear, rampant, decisive fraud. If there was any fraud it was on the part of the establishment “stays”.

Unfortunately England has a parliamentary system and a key defect in that is they can change the rules, their governing documents, much easier than in our constitutional republic system. That is why such parliamentary systems advance socialism, which is a denial of rights, so easily. Our constitutional republic theoretically has built in checks and cumbersome amendatory processes – except when wannabe dictators ignore them and weak hitting opposition essentially allows him/her to do so.    R Mall

I think Piers Morgan (who’s usually wrong) said it best-

Gentlemen: the “second referendum” petition has been exposed as the hoax some of us predicted. Please…..due diligence before you publish such hoaxes.

Thanks for your vigilance. We reported a skeptical link and our sources were The Daily Mail and BBC, the former reported them as possibly fraudulent signatures. We used terms “if” and “ridiculous” so our radar was up even if all diodes were not optimal.
