“Take a respected institution.
Kill it.
Gut it.
Wear its carcass as a skin suit.
And demand respect.”
From a dead to rights article by Clarice Feldman writing at American Thinker:
The Incestuous Left and Those Who Provide Cover for them
“The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) is “the domestic anti-poverty program of the U.S. Catholic Bishops” and a grant-making vehicle of the USCCB. It was founded in Chicago in 1969 with the help of radical organizer Saul Alinsky, specifically to fund Alinsky’s Industrial Areas Foundation. CCHD has been a radical leftist funding vehicle ever since, giving millions to ACORN, the radical training school Midwest Academy, and others. The Industrial Areas Foundation, where a young Barack Obama was trained in “community organizing” with financial support from the Chicago Archdiocese, receives the largest percentage of CCHD grants of any CCHD grantee.”
It is nearly impossible, I find, to convince my fellow Catholics, even some of my own family members just how much the Church has been taken over by the Left, top to bottom. Included in the “takeover” are organizations like one in the Quad Cities, which has actually been unabashed in exhibiting its radical leftist impulses, to the bishops which support and promote these organizations. It goes all the way to the top, Pope Francis, whose holy mask often slips enough to reveal his firmly held Marxist beliefs.
Bedrock Catholic tenets are actually given only lip service, and that in order to keep the faithful in line, thinking they are still fervently held and defended by the hierarchy.
When nominally Catholic institutions feel free to embrace the beliefs and behaviors of Saul Alinsky and Catholic educational institutions are comfortable bestowing honors on political figures who openly endorse and enthusiastically promote abortion, anytime, anywhere, for any reason…and even proclaim themselves to be “devout Catholics”, it is appropriate to ask what “faith” the Catholic Church really defends?
This column by Clarice Feldman is a painful one for a Catholic to read. It factually exposes the Church leadership’s devotion to an ideology which has been vigorously opposed by both Catholic doctrine and Church hierarchy throughout the past century and before. DLH

Besides the CCHD, its leftist origins and bought and paid-for ticket as fellow traveler of socialism and a progressive “Catholic spring,” I lump in with their ilk the Bishop’s legal council apparat. They are either weaker than pop-corn farts or they do not operate as independent advocates of First Amendment rights for the Church. Instead they serve to suppress conservative and right to life efforts at reaching congregations with candidate comparisons, bamboozling otherwise receptive pastors in service to their parishioners, by allowing the false impression that a church’s tax status is implicated by allowing the distribution of such information by 501 (c)(4) organizations.
Further, the idea that church’s cannot be selective in what 501 (c)(4) material they distribute and must allow every organization such access is also false intentionally stifling advice (in my humble, non-lawyer but Constitution reading judgement). Indeed, US Catholic Churches are 501 (c)(3) entities, but they can and do have 501 (c)(4) lobbying arms. I believe I am backed by this by the organization Alliance Defending Freedom. This weakness or intended false impression works to provide cover to pastors and Bishops to deny any counter to their equivocations about the right to life, even though the material is consistent with established Catholic teachings. In my opinion the Bishop’s legal apparat is either manipulating the Bishops or were told to reach a certain result.
