When it comes to Comey & Clinton Inc., take the cynical view

Rush Limbaugh outlined what he termed a “cynic’s” view of the FBI’s reopening of Hillary’s private server matter (see WaPo story below):

Here’s this cynic’s view: by “reopening” the investigation, nothing more can be reported by the FBI about Hillary’s e-mail scandal because “it is the subject of an ongoing investigation”

don1hilstar-e1471592359793Here is our guess of a likely scenario. Whatever came out of Project Veritas, WikiLeaks or found otherwise, was serious enough that Clinton Inc. decided it needed to be shut down, or maybe they even felt the constant drip-drip needed to be shut down, gotten off the news, as quickly as possible to stop Trump’s momentum.  Give the press a reason not to talk about her, because there is no story in an “ongoing investigation.”  Stop the bleeding as best you can.   Call it a Republican instigated witch hunt (they probably should not use that term) and that Comey is doing THEIR bidding (they don’t call her Chutzpah Hillary for nothing).

Think of it as the easiest off-put to inquiries, of course always with the assurance that Hillary is anxious to get everything out in the open and she expects full exoneration and can’t imagine what it is even all about.  The press will play along making little effort to find out what the big deal is and find things to continue their denigration of Trump.   Bring on Hillary’s election!

Understand as well that it does not matter that there are any further discoveries of classified information . . .  whatever is found . .  . Hillary didn’t mean to do it, Comey will wring his hands that there is nothing he can do, tell us that there is just no precedent for prosecuting security breeches or wanton negligence, none whatsoever.  Accordingly (its the best they can do) Hillary pleads victimization and is exonerated as it was just a mistake  —   it is the “trump Trump” trump card.    DLH  (with some cynicism thrown in by R Mall).

FBI to conduct new investigation of emails from Clinton’s private server

The FBI will investigate whether additional classified material is contained in emails sent using Hillary Clinton’s private email server while she was sectretary of state, FBI director James Comey informed Congressional leaders Friday.   . . .

In a letter to congressional leaders, Comey said that the FBI had, in connection with an “unrelated case,” recently “learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the Clinton investigation.”

Comey wrote that he had been briefed on the new material Thursday. “I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation,” he wrote.

  1. DLH says:

I’ve not heard any of the “great minds” say it yet, but let’s face it. James Comey is way over his head. Too bad he didn’t get his buddy, Patrick Fitzerald, to bail him out of this mess. By now, Fitzgerald would have had Trump the focus of the investigation and would be preparing an indictment for obstruction because he didn’t have identical recollections as that of Rachel Madow…or some other leftist journalist. Recall that was Fitzgerald’s strategy in the Scooter Libby case. Poor old Scooter’s memory wasn’t as good as Tim Russert’s (look it up).
Comey would have then been a hero and on his way to the Attorney General job under a Hillary administration (he may still be).
