Observations on LI or XXXXXI

Belichick to Brady as the QB prepares to start the overtime period:

“Tom, go out there and WIN ONE FOR THE TRUMPER”

A 31-point comeback in 2nd half to win — as improbable as if some real estate developer with no political experience won the presidency in his first run for elective office…absurd!

Some observations on the “LI st” Super Bowl

– Probably like many I was watching the modern successor to Ringling Bros. “Greatest Show on Earth”, scintillating with about a billion lumens of artificial light, scores of barely clad lads and lasses, deafening music, all featuring a lady of undoubted talent, but dubious judgment in appropriate attire … all cavorting on a hyper-glittering stage in full view of about 100 million fellow earthlings and possibly a few million more beings on neighboring planets no doubt attracted by the noise and light, when, suddenly…a football game broke out!

– And, exceptional for this annual event, a great football game it was!…for everybody that is, except the Atlanta Falcons. The Brady-Belichick Era continues!

– As the final quarter came to its incredibly thrilling, thrilling conclusion, I wonder if anybody feared that maybe NFL Commissioner Goodell had arranged for the stage, the performers, and the blinding lights to come back for a curtain call before the overtime period began. Puh-leeze…spare us!

– And just a note about the star of the show…no not Brady…Lady Gaga: Her performance will undoubtedly be hailed as maybe the greatest of all time( I don’t know, I’ll take their word for it) but maybe the biggest fallout from it might be the coming weeks and months of conflict in households throughout America between parents and their pre-teen daughters demanding their financial backing for a thigh-high tattoo of some weird wiggly thing .

– Speaking of tattoos, Ms. Gaga seems to have ‘tats’ in a number of places on her body…some of which seem to go beyond even the scantiest attire into areas where the ink artist’s concentration and steady hand must have been severely challenged.
The Daily Mail has so many photos you might feel you were there .

– As to the issue that may have dominated Vegas betting…would the Gaga get political?, it’s probably fair to say that both sides of the question won. The Lady was political in various anti-Trump ways but not so overt that it could easily have escaped the attention of the music enthusiasts. Doubtful, though, that George Soros was happy that it was not blatantly inciteful.

Short of encouraging the crowd to burn a Trump effigy in the flames of her act, old George would have probably wanted to tell the Gaga “she’ll never work in this town again”.
